    photographer at Aulani

    This really is the best idea if you want to save money but get a lot of nice photos. And the photos show up so quickly (we did the thing where you load your photopass numbers to the room TV) that if you don't like the photos from that night, you could go back the next night and do it again. Some...

    What is included at Spa for the daily fee

    Yea I looked into it recently and the day fee isn't available anymore; you have to book a massage or other full-service treatment.

    private photo session at sunset

    I think $200 for a 25-min session including five edited images of your choice (from a proofing gallery), $12/each if you want more, but I'm not positive and she seems to run specials sometimes so I'd reach out if interested!

    private photo session at sunset

    I would highly recommend Julia Klink.. we did a mini session with her at the 'secret' beach near Aulani and love the photos, she's great to work with and very affordable. On previous trips we just used the Aulani photographers who were out on the beach at sunset.. never did a private session...

    Dinner at ‘AMA ‘AMA and Makahiki Buffet

    I think Ama Ama is worth it at least once, especially for breakfast. The dinners we had there were fine also, but overpriced for sure and they don't even give you free bread anymore. I would say go for dessert around sunset time. Like someone else mentioned, Roy's was incredible - high prices...

    Hawaii false missile alarm

    How scary! Did anyone talk to a manager or anything about what happened / why they were directing people outside?

    Late January or early March for Aulani?

    Hi all! Does anyone have any thoughts on whether you'd visit Aulani in late January (last week of Jan into the first week of Feb) vs. early March (last week of Feb. into first week of March)? I can't think of any holidays or spring breaks in these time frames that might make crowds more of an...

    How often do you go back?

    We went twice (2015 and 2016) and would like to go back again next year, though I'm a little concerned about some recent changes (like no more free Starlit Hui) and some reviews I've read about pool chairs being even more difficult to get as the resort gets more popular. Has anyone noticed that...

    Any Tips on getting a decent flight $1100 a person! Yikes

    Thanks for sharing, I'm going to look into this! I don't see a 60,000 mile one but a 40,000 one.. we need 4 tickets so that could still work.. is there some catch to this that I'm missing? Seems too good to be true!

    Keiki O Laniwai – Magical Makeovers for Kids

    Our DD did this last year and this year and loved it! We didn't book a package though, just did polish changes and hairstyle. Very fun experience!

    Tips for hiring a photographer on Maui (probably) or Oahu (maybe) & Aulani Photopass (?)

    We looked into this a bit and having a short session (20 mins?) with an Aulani Photopass photographer was the most affordable option (though we didn't ask about rates for a larger group). We also considered Marella Photography who seems to do a lot in the Ko Olina area and they had affordable...

    Pool & Beach Chairs - how bad is it?

    Not sure if this is helpful since different time of year, but we were just there for 10 nights (got back yesterday) and on the several days we did not grab chairs early in the morning (between 8-9 a.m.) we had a pretty hard time finding a spot to put our things. We did get a cabana one day, and...

    Experiences with urgent care near Aulani?

    Thanks for your replies! The urgent care the front desk recommended had a 2+ hour wait that night and the next morning but someone at that urgent care mentioned Ekahi urgent care as another nearby option. They had no wait and it was just a little further, so we went there and had a very good...

    Experiences with urgent care near Aulani?

    Wondering if anyone has used an urgent care near Aulani? Or hospital? We are here and our daughter has a possible UTI and a cough. I called the front desk and they recommended Kunia Urgent Care. We may wait until the morning so just thought I'd check to see if anyone has any info or advice to...

    Points for Transfer: 2015 Aulani 190 - $15pp

    Do you still have points available? I'm trying to book Jan. 17-27 for standard hotel room, put in a request through a service and seems like they might not be able to make it happen.

    Aulani and island hopping

    We're debating the same thing for our trip next year. It's our second time to Hawaii (first time stayed only on Oahu, at Aulani the whole time, as well- though there's still a few things we didn't get to do/see), so we do feel like we "should" be going and island-hopping, but our kids are young...

    Now is the Best Time of Year for Aulani

    If you aren't DVC or staying on points, ask about any free transportation offer- earlier this month we got free shuttle to and from airport, and a free day of a rental car from the on-site Alamo. The deal wasn't listed online- just offered when I called about our reservation.

    Now is the Best Time of Year for Aulani

    That's awesome! It's too bad there isn't some way to know in advance which weeks are best (beyond the obvious times that are crowded ie holidays, spring break, summer, weekends). We were just there Jan 12-21 and it was surprisingly crowded. Still able to get into Ama Ama a few nights around...
