Drops on POTC for a non-rider?

i rode this yesterday with my 7-month old daughter. I held onto her, but this is a ride that you can safely take a newborn on without any form of restraint. If the drops were anything to worry about, the ride would have restraints and height restrictions. The boats are similar in function to the...

    Looking for College near Disneyland

What major are you looking for? I highly recommend Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC). It's in Walnut, about a 30 minute drive to Disneyland. A lot of students there participate in the DCP. I'd say about 40% of my friends from Mt. SAC have participated in the program at one point or another.

    Pearl Factory

No idea. It's been awhile since I've been there. I believe it was one of the cheaper options available, though. You could try calling them to ask what they have. Their number is 714-778-3929

    Pearl Factory

I know they have a pretty clamshell cage pendant that while not Disney, certainly has a Little Mermaid feel to it. Pearls are my favorite and I'm part mermaid, or so I tell everyone ;) I think that might be a good Disney-ish option.

    Pearl Factory

Keep in mind that your setting options are going to vary depending on the size of the pearl. I did one a few years ago and got one that was quite large. I didn't purchase a setting for it because my options were limited due to the size. I like the cage necklaces that don't require drilling, but...

Going to DL in August with apathetic friends

Have any of them been to DL? At least, have they been since childhood? A lot of people don't fully understand what they're missing until they get there. They think its just another amusement park, it's too childish, etc. In this case, I'd just wait until you get there and see how things go. They...

    Free DLR hotel upgrades?

I think if you're staying for a short period of time (one or two nights) you have a much higher chance of getting upgraded than if you were staying for a longer period. Free upgrades means they have nicer rooms that aren't sold. They may be sold for the next night, but open the night you check...

Why do club 33 posts get locked?

I've always considered it in poor taste to ask for an invite, or even ask people who get the opportunity to go how they got in. Recently a few of my Disney acquaintances have had the opportunity to go, and I'm super jealous! I'd love to ask them who they knew, but I just see that as a forbidden...

    Hotels?

At least $20 extra for the year isn't quite so bad, although I never was able to renew after last year's crazy hike. We're really trying, though. I need my Disney day trips. I spent a few days a week there last summer, and it was the best summer of my life. I made a lot of new friends and had so...

    Hotels?

I would love to have a bigger budget. But since we're doing this on our own, and with a new baby on the way, every dollar matters. I'm hoping we'll get some gift money from a few family members that will help out a little, but I don't ever expect anything from anyone, and since we're not really...

    Hotels?

Thanks for the ideas. I'm trying to budget this whole thing for as little as possible, somewhere between 600-1000 for the ceremony and our fun day afterwards (APs not included). I'll try calling the hotels and see if there's anything they can do. Ideally I'd like to spend under $100 for a room...

    Hotels?

I'm brainstorming here. I'm trying to plan a nice casual elopement/wedding night/honeymoon on a budget. We're looking at a weekday in August. I'd like to do our civil ceremony in the morning, then head to Disneyland to spend the day/night/next day. If all goes well in the next month or two...

Kind of urgent AP monthly payments question

I was planning on going to the parks tomorrow, but I just realized that my payments are set up to be charged to my debit card on the 24th. I recently lost my debit card and had to order a replacement, but I haven't received it yet. Of course the old one has been cancelled, so my payment won't go...

    Butter Beer?

I saw a recipe awhile ago that used cream soda, and either clarified butter, or butter flavoring. The foam part was just whipped cream with the butter flavor added. I can't for the life of me remember the blog I found the recipe on, but I remember her saying it tasted pretty identical to the one...

    Jungle Cruise elephants?

Can someone please explain what has been going on with the Jungle Cruise elephants? First the Mother-In-Law (the one on the right) disappears. Now the one on the right is back, but the one on the left is gone. Did they just move him from one side to the other? did they bring the Mother-in-law...

2011 DISers Halloween Party Dates & Costumes List

I just ordered my tickets (and they were paid for by a ghost, too!) for 9/30. I'll be attending with my sister, her husband, and their 2yo son and 2mo daughter. The kids will be dressed up (not Disney, though), and I might dress if I can figure out a costume, but my sister and her husband are...

    Feathers in hair??

The feathers mass produced for use in hair extensions and fly fishing are not collected as they fall out naturally, so if you have ethical issues, I would not recommend them. There are some cute cruelty free alternatives available, that are made using synthetic hair that regular synthetic...

    Mickey Mouse ears hats-general cost?

I would add a few dollars to the online prices just to be on the safe side. I was looking at a mug online that cost $10.95, and purchased it in the parks for $11.95. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a trend with most items.
