DW and I have spoiled ourselves I suppose. If we are going for a week with our DD we would rather have a 2br. A 1br would work but DD doesn't like the sofa bed. However we are not opposed to getting a studio for a weekend if it means we get to go to Disney again..

I might pay extra towards principle on our mortgage but no, I'm not sending extra to water, electric, cable etc. I like keeping money with me for as long as possible. However, you do what you feel is best for you.

We stayed 4 nights in a 2br lake view last November. Checked in on my birthday. What a treat. We LOVED it! Enjoy your stay.

If you break your party into 2 groups, are you prepared to not sit together? Not sure how you can guarantee being near each other. I have made reservations for a large group and did so by calling the restaurant directly. It worked out just fine and we were all seated together.

I agree. Try something new. GFV would be a great choice. We had a 2br there in November and loved it! It was a lot of points but we had some to burn so we decided to splurge. We were not disappointed. Will stay there again if we can save enough points.

Personally I wouldn't put $43,000 into something i was only going to use every 5 years. Additionally, you'll need to use at least 2 UY's worth of points to get a decent room at Riviera, so you'll be using them yourself and not renting them. This will add years to your payoff strategy.
