Tell me it is ok to splurge on a on a Disneyland Hotel

When we went to DL, we upgraded our room from off site to DLH. We didn't LOVE the location, we found the walk far back to the hotel after a long day in the parks. But we are not mid-day break people, We got up early, used the EMH at the parks, and stayed until after supper all 3 days. We...

Disneyland vs Disney World - Help me choose a trip!

Our last time we went to DL was in January, but we visited the parks on a Tues/Wed/Thurs - this time, if we went in January, our park days would be Fri/Sat/Sun, so I expect the parks to be MUCH busier, but still quite managable. I absolutely LOVE having a touring plan, but to be honest, when we...

Oh my Goodness! You sound like us THIS year! We were planning on DW for January with the kids, and we said screw it - all inclusive in Mexico instead! So, that's what we did....lol...so I would really like to try settle on some sort of a Disney trip next time around. Our kids are getting...

Disneyland vs Disney World - Help me choose a trip!

I am looking for opinions of travellers that have done both parks in either January or March! We are a family of 4. Myself, DH, DD (16) and DS (11) - DS, DD and myself have all been to DL and DW. DH has only been to DL. I have the option of 3 trips: Option #1 - 7 nights in Disney World...

Need some opinions on SPring 2019....planning ahead!

DD says she wouldn't care - she would make it work, but we are talking about a people-pleasing high-functioning anxious kid. She will always try to make us happy, even at the expense of her own health. :( And March break for the entire province of Manitoba (All elemtary, middle school and...

    2019?

Yup! We are planning for 2019. I wanted to go in May 2019 originally, to be there on my 40th birthday, but our oldest DD will be in Grade 11 that year, and I just don't think it would be fair to pull her from classes for a week. Soooo......after a few days of diliberation, trying to decide...

    Adding a dining plan

So if you didn't buy the dining plan, and then Disney decides to offer free dining during your vacation, can you add it to your reservation? (assuming it's more than 72 hours before your check in of coarse)

Yes, this is why I'm so glad I posted!! This is one of those things I wouldn't have thought of! I think I've decided to brave the crowds of Spring Break.

Need some opinions on SPring 2019....planning ahead!

Ok, good to know you continue to go in March and enjoy it! I went in April last time, it was the week after Easter and I didn't find it overly "busy" but I had a very detailed plan, including where to dine for QS restaurants (No ADR's for us!) etc. We even had a day with both waterparks to...

    **Official March 2018 Thread**

Good point. I haven't been since April of 2012 (which happened to be the week AFTER Easter) and I didn't find it too bad. I had things very well planned though....we never waited more than 15 minutes for any thing. No ADR's though and we didn't have to book our fast passes in advance. I was...

The wrong things MAY be right at the wrong time.... What am i doing.

We are planning a trip for my 40th, but I am very hesitatant to pull my oldest DD from school. She will be in 11th Grade and I don't want to make it any harder on her than it already is. So, if May doesn't happen for my ACTUAL birthday, our second choice would be Spring Break....ugh....I'm...

Need some opinions on SPring 2019....planning ahead!

I'm really starting to lean towards NOT pulling them for this trip. As much as I'd love to be at DW for my 40th, I have to put my DD's school first. I don't want to make it any harder on her than it already is. I'm an old lady, I can celebrate my birthday EARLY! Have you ever been during...

Need some opinions on SPring 2019....planning ahead!

I agree, I do feel her teachers would work with us to help her out, she is a remarkable student, with wonderful grades, but she works HARD at it. We won't know what classes she has term 2 until June of 2018......I guess that's ok. Ugh. SO much to think about! I think I will be like you -...

Yeah, I don't even bat an eyelash with elementary grades to be honest. Those classes are BEYOND easy to catch up on here. Even Jr High I was fine with her missing - now she's in High School and it FREAKS ME OUT!! I just don't want to set her up for failure because of a family vacation.
