Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Moved our Christmas trip to Easter weekend, and now staying at Coronado. Booked water view, but hoping a tower standard view opens up. We requested Cabanas rooms (8A, 8B, 8C) since it's closer to the lobby. Quick question - if you're staying at regular coronado, could you use the gym in the tower?

    So much new availability

Park reservations opened up during Christmas week, as well. I think people are cancelling. I don't blame em. We're keeping our reservations, though.

    Disney Genie announcement

If I'm reading this correctly, there will be "surge" pricing for bigger attractions during more crowded days (thus, my stock market analogy) While I made the analogy as a joke, now I'm thinking about it and.... Disney is basically penalizing guests for visiting during more crowded/expensive...

    Disney Genie announcement

I'll hold judgement until I see exactly how it plays out, but initial gut reaction is.... Universal's pass is expensive, but you get the pass for all the attractions. This Genie+ sounds like the higher-tier attractions are gonna be priced like some sorta disney stock market—adding even more...

    Disney Dining Plan Returning?

Didn't see anything about snacks. I guess that's where they make their money. Based on our eating habits now, I think we'll skip - especially with no snacks.

Annual pass replaced with Membership for DL and AP returning by October

I think the nice thing... and the smart thing for Disney... is that they've found a pricing structure that makes sense for not only locals, but those who wanna visit a few times a year or go on a very long vacation. I think Disney is also accepting that not everyone is gonna stay on property...

Annual pass replaced with Membership for DL and AP returning by October

Exactly. Easy to overthink this, but at the end of the day it's gonna be a Disney-fied hotel honors system. At least that's what I hope.

Annual pass replaced with Membership for DL and AP returning by October

At least from working for a major company, I know that the absolute biggest trend right now is data collection and using it to drive repeat customers. That doesn't seem like it'd be an issue for Disney, but it also wouldn't be an issue for the field I'm in, either. I work in beer for one of the...

    Best Way to Enjoy Christmas?

We used to go every year for Christmas and NYE. The crowds never really bothered us and it was the one time we could really all get together and on the same page for a big vacation. We're planning on going back this year, assuming there's no big restrictions or masks required throughout the...

Will Disney follow new CDC recommendation?

We're going in December and have been considering this for a while. IMO, if it's "hey, put it on before going indoors" I'll do it and be fine with it. If they make you wear it everywhere in the parks - regardless of how "mild" or cool it is outside, I'm out and will cancel. Then goin during...

9 people Christmas week, which resort?

If there was ever a year to do off-site, this would be it. With the park reservation system, you won't have to worry about being turned away due to capacity. Book your parks and stay off-site at a house, suite, or villa. The only issue will be getting to the park and paying for parking, but I'm...

    quick service - polite pig

Yes and it was one of the better deals at Disney. I'd often get the brisket, which is $21. You get the meat, a side of corn bread, slaw, and 1 market side. It's a very large portion and at the price, is a solid value. Add in the alcohol and you're getting close to a $30 meal for one QS credit.

    Gideon’s SOS

You could put them in an airtight container with a slice of bread. Old trick that keeps cookies fresh. We've purchased similar cookies in bulk from one of those "big cookie" companies like LeVain or Gideons. If you don't eat within the first day or so, package them in an air-tight bag or...

Some updated 50th Anniversary info - extended hours, etc.

There's a very good chance this is just added perks to entice guests to stay on-site or upgrade. To me, reading between the lines, it says "we're not bringing back FP or dining plan just yet, so we're compensating with perks we CAN do" But I'm probably wrong...

    Rumor about Wave redo....

The Wave: gets to cult-like status due to its great menu and prices Disney: We've reimagining it and turning the space into a steakhouse... you know... with the same cuts offered at all the other steakhouses in disney!

Favorite MK dining options (both QS and TS)

I've gotta be totally honest... MK doesn't do it for me food-wise...which is surprising since it's the most popular park. Tony's is a no-go for me; BOG is too expensive or the portion, type, and quality of food; haven't tried Skipper's Canteen, so can't really comment on it...We tried Columbia...

Toughest reservations to get - Help rank

I'd prioritize California Grill, seeing as you have a distinct time you'd like to be there. Plus, it's always been popular and difficult to get. Like another user called, push it to to the end of your trip, but I'd avoid weekends. It's a big date spot. Ohana is gonna be hot now. A lot of...

So many spots, so little time

Yes! We did Artist's Point just before it changed over. There was something very Christmasy about the mushroom bisque and some buffalo loin. Didn't hurt that it was chillier than usual that year, so we got the full "winter lodge" experience.

So many spots, so little time

We're going back to Disney (as of now like 80% going) for Christmas week. We used to go every Christmas from 09-18, but skipped in 2019 to do California (and DL) and of course last year we didn't go anywhere. So now we're going back. Our biggest takeaway from COVID is that there's A LOT of...
