I have done both and like a standard view on a high floor just as well if not better than the lake view. The boat horn can be loud, but I have learned to always use a light white noise machine at any hotel.

Requesting a non-ADA room solved our issues. We were put in an ADA room at Floridian, which is an issue because of the lack of soaking tub. After that I always ask for a non-HA room.

Oh no! We booked one night in December and then are visiting family for a few nights and coming to SSR for 6 nights. Should i book somewhere else other than Boardwalk?

Agree about the gorgeous ceiling! They need to look at very nicely redone and classic five star hotels like the Greenbrier and Grand Hotel to make sure the lobby renovation is done correctly. It's a beautiful lobby and just needs to be refreshed and updated a bit.

We love the first building of Grandstand near the pool and carriage house (our room number was 8711).

Original villas all have balconies. I think very few rooms in BPK don’t have balconies. I stayed in that building twice before and remember most have balconies.
