Is Coronavirus affecting your travel plans?

I live in Tampa, where we have 2 cases so far, and another in the county south of here. People are becoming more anxious. Yesterday, we couldn’t find hand sanitizer at any grocery stores, Office Depot - nowhere. But I am still planning to attend a conference in Orlando this weekend. The...

    Solo meet-ups on DC?

I went on the Disney Dream last year with 2 friends. We went to the two solo events and were the only ones to show up. I'm considering a solo cruise later this year, but I'm good with just relaxing and doing my own thing. Maybe a better place to meet people is at some of the trivia games in bars.

My issues with the multi-use toiletries

I had a bad experience with these big bottles last week when I stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort. As I started my shower, I realized that both the conditioner and body wash bottles were empty. I called Housekeeping and let them know. I was on my way out to the parks, so I told them to go ahead...

***Official Candlelight Processional Dining Package Watch - 2018***

What time do we call on July 10th/11th, 7:00 AM? We are aiming for a lunch in France or Italy, then the first or second show on Dec. 3rd with NPH - it's for my mom's 70th birthday. :-)

Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

I did the Wanyama Safari in September 2016, and I loved it! There were only 6 of us on my safari. Before the safari, we were in a private room in Jiko, where they served us Roobios tea, ice water, raisin scones (excellent), chocolate cups with coffee mousse (divine), olive bread with harissa...

Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

I read such good reviews of GP when it first opened. I listened to a live review podcast from last April, and literally the entire menu now is different. Really disappointing. The cutback at RF are also quite disappointing. I ate there about 3 years ago and enjoyed my salad (the Wilderness...

Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

Hi all, I'm planning my first stay ever at Wilderness Lodge in just over 2 weeks! Unfortunately, my stay is only one night, so I want to sample as many of the restaurants as possible. I've eaten twice at Whispering Canyon Cafe and loved it, but since I'll be solo, I'd like to try the other...

It's MARVEL-ous on the MAGIC! Oct 2017 Canada Coast Cruise COMPLETE! See Ya Real Soon!

Just found your TR, I love it so far! I can't wait to hear about the different ports in Canada! I live in NYC, and I'm taking my first Disney cruise in 27 days on the Dream, a 3-night Bahamas cruise. I want to purchase the voucher for hopefully a Fall 2019 cruise out of NYC! I can't wait for...

Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE RESORT Information & Questions

Hi all - just back from a great trip at WDW. We had 15 people staying at POR, in 3 Royal Rooms (one of which was a roll-in shower) and 3 non-Royal Rooms. We were all in Buildings 85 and 95. There were some ups and downs - the good far outweighed the bad, but I'll get the bad out of the way...

"Official" 2017 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - Boo to You!

Hi all - I noticed on the Lines app that Jungle Cruise is closed right now during the party. Is it open at all during the party, or should we ride it before 7:00 PM? I'm going Oct. 20th with 2 kids who have never been to WDW, so that's one of my must-ride attractions with them. Thanks!

Spas: Is there a "best" one? Which one is that?

I'm going back to WDW in 6 days and just received Disney gift cards for my birthday. I was also contemplating a massage in the middle of our trip. Has anyone been recently to Saratoga Springs' Senses spa? I read some reviews that the Senses at SSR is better than GF.

January/February 2018 discounts, who else is in?

First, thanks for those who advised to call for a new reservation instead of modifying an existing reservation! I read that while on hold for 48 minutes, hung up, called for a new reservation, and was talking with a CM in 4 minutes! I'm doing a split stay - Jan. 27-31 (was at WL standard view...

***Riding out the hurricane at a Disney resort? Post your experiences here!***

Weather Channel is reporting that the hurricane is moving a little to the east, and that Orlando is experiencing gusts up to 80 mph right now. Be careful, everyone!

***Riding out the hurricane at a Disney resort? Post your experiences here!***

I'll be at OKW in a few weeks, we have an ADR at Olivia's for lunch, and my parents and I will be checking out the resort - we've never been there. And all 3 of us are Purdue grads, so we will look for Tristan! :-)

***Riding out the hurricane at a Disney resort? Post your experiences here!***

This is a very helpful and reassuring thread, hearing how great Disney is taking care of guests during this hurricane. I'll be at WDW in 5 weeks, hoping for good weather, but who knows! I'm also trying to decide when to go to WDW early next fall, before my AP expires. My parents live in SW...

***Riding out the hurricane at a Disney resort? Post your experiences here!***

A tip from the local Orlando news team... Tomorrow night, when the wind will be very strong, put on a noise machine or some music. This may be especially helpful if you're confined to one room with children, to block out any noises from wind or debris hitting windows or roofs.

    Hurricane Irma?

I am a true eng-nerd, I actually enjoyed researching this! :) WDW is in the Reedy Creek watershed. The creeks (like Bonnet Creek) drain into the Kissimmee River. For greater Orlando, underground storm sewer pipes discharge into the many city lakes (per the Orlando Public Works Dept.). Here are...

    Hurricane Irma?

Civil engineer here who works on water and sewer systems... I did a bit of research. WDW utilities are run by the Reedy Creek Improvement District. It looks like WDW has separate storm and sanitary sewers - this is good because if there is flooding, the storm water will be draining in a separate...

    Hurricane Irma?

The latest NHS projected track has Irma going along Florida's east coast. Port Canaveral is about 65 miles from WDW. So that puts WDW right on the edge of the hurricane's worst winds. My parents live in Cape Coral (SW Florida). They decided to drive north yesterday, and I-75 was already heavy...
