    October crew checking in

Oct 24-Nov 8 at Caribbean Beach (re-booked from April). We had planned on MNSSHP (now not happening), food and wine (modified experience) and MVMCP (status unknown yet). As more details unfold and the experience continues to go downhill (fast), we're just about ready to cancel again and re-book...

    JAN or FEB

In previous years we have found January to be quieter but also cooler/colder. February is warmer but crowds start to pick up especially toward the end of the month (with spring breaks starting up late feb and March. ...Now 2021 could be totally different, crowd wise anyway. As someone noted...

How do you feel about wearing a mask at Disney parks?

I was just thinking how much we love being out in the Florida sunshine...can you imagine the weird suntans this year if we're wearing masks all day :D

    The Great Mask Debate

We're coming down from Canada. For us the border has to open up first and the 14 days of quarantine has to be lifted otherwise we're out of luck. Again...fingers and toes crossed...knock wood...etc...etc

    The Great Mask Debate

I'm also in the everyone needs to wear a mask category of your survey (for everyone's safety). As a "front line" worker, I am required to wear a mask all day at work to protect myself, the people I work with and those that I come into contact with. I now buy my hand lotion in the XL jumbo size...

Pirates of the Caribbean interactive game

If you like the adventure and want to see a little something different, then it's worth a try. Took us about an hour last time we played. Personally we like playing these interactive games, my daughter loved Kim Possible and then later Agent P in Epcot. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom was a lot...

already bought tickets, will I get in?

That's the beauty of fastpass+ , adr's, resort reservations etc... Disney has a pretty darn good idea of what days and what parks that a good percentage of visitors are planning to attend and where and when they plan to eat. It's the "spur of the moment" or non-planning/loosely planned visitors...

    Social distancing on planes?

For most airlines, a person of size is required to book 2 seats so it's definitely do-able.

    September 2020 car rental watch

Agree, prices usually drop the closer you get to pickup date. My best prices have usually been in the 4-6 week range before the rental but have managed to swing a great last minute rate within a day or 2 of the rental. Best idea is book something that you could live with now (make sure it's a...

    Disney World Christmas Decorations 2020?

When we went a couple of years ago, we arrived Oct 28 with first park days on 29th and 30th (Halloween decorations up) went back on Nov 2 and the Christmas decorations were up. Super fast switch over, we were amazed how fast this happened.

After re-opening, how big will the discounts be?

In the early days after things start to open up, discounts may be needed to coax people out of isolation. Once things start to get back to normal there is going to be a huge surge of people who want to get out and do stuff, expect prices to rise and availability to drop. Having said that, we...

    5, 6 or 7 days in parks?

Our preference has always been longer stay but with some down days or beach days. Taking the time to enjoy the vacation. On a 2 week trip we will usually get 7-8 day tickets but several of our park days will be partial days...morning extra magic hours or just an evening for fireworks show...

    FP day today-what happened?!?!?!

Yeah, have to agree. Think this is going to get a lot worse before it starts to get better. China has been in a FULL lockdown for over 3 months and it's still not over there so I doubt we'll be through it here in the next couple of months. We had to cancel April 4-16 and we're going to give it...

    April 2020 Car Rental

Finally!!! Rates for Easter week just dropped significantly. We are travelling April 4-16 (12 days) and lowest I had booked (until this morning) was $642 for a mid-size car with Alamo. This morning, just booked Standard Pickup for $431 (mid-size car was a little more at $450) with Costco code at...

Orlando Sanford Airport car rental after hours

We had a delayed flight into SFB a couple of years ago, arriving around 12:30. Alamo still had someone at the desk and gates when we arrived. They said that their hours varied depending on flight arrivals and reservations.

    Basin Bath Salts—not TSA friendly...

I read somewhere (I think on the TSA blog) that inorganic powders like salt, bath salts, some seasoning salts had a size limit of 12oz in carry-on

    Refillable Bottle and TSA

Sorry, I'm from the great white north and our TSA (CATSA) doesn't allow ice in carry-on if it's over 100ml. Was told Canadian rules were based on the US ones, guess not to the letter. Sorry again for the mis-info (unless you are coming down from Canada, I guess)

    Refillable Bottle and TSA

Yeah...don't do this. Ice is water and WILL be pulled. If they can't get the ice out of the bottle, you will loose the bottle too. Take the bottle empty and ask nicely at one of the restaurants on the other side if you can get some ice (if you really must have ice water)
