    Wow how things have changed.

HAHA! Aint that the truth! My son and I were gunners and he was getting so annoyed at the two pilots - he wanted to get two containers for a different ending than what we've had before. One of the pilots didnt even have her hands on the controls... But hey, it's all fun!

Covid + after start of vacation

I'm confused. Why would Disney EVER know anyone's medical status - inluding whether they are COVID positive or not?? Your health - and plans for various scenarios - is YOUR responsibility - not Disney's :mic:

We don't own a smart phone how many stand-by lines at parks

Genie+ and LL was a waste of time and money - but Mobile ordering was priceless! I think it depends on where you plan to eat - if you're in sit-down / waiter establishments then you'll be fine without a smartphone.

Never thought I'd do it- Cancelled.

this was my perception as well. In both October and December it seems the number of scooters has increased. . . and I'm not judging whether someone needs a scooter but it seems they are more of a convenience for some than a need. For example, I was behind a group of 10 in RoTR. . . there was one...

Never thought I'd do it- Cancelled.

fun read. I just got back from a week in DW - we stayed off-property for the first time (Margaritaville) and had a blast. The pool was awesome! We did Epcot, MK, and HS - in that order - on different days. We were just there in October with park hopper tickets and didnt use them so no need this...

if you see what you want, GRAB IT! - all my wife wanted was the champagne flutes. We decided to wait so we didnt have to carry around glass flutes all day ... never saw another one over the course of 4 days. There are gobs on ebay though! :mic:

Anyone else worried about their unvaccinated minor?

at this point, my son has been in school, played sports, went to summer camp, plays outside ALL day, goes to the gym, stays all night with friends, etc. and hasnt had COVID, flu, a cold, or sniffles (aside from allergies) for over 18 months. Even if he were to get COVID survivablity it, what...

No kids in adult areas even with nursery closed?

carnival has a bad rep which is more based on teh 3 day booze & gample cruises... their new ships look incredible and seem (since i havent sailed with them yet) to offer better and more diverse food options, entertainment, and kids activities - both club based and on-deck. . . as cool as aqua...

No kids in adult areas even with nursery closed?

those other lines are looking more appealing - at least the kid activities on deck are still open (ropes courses, sports, etc) - and from what I can see on Carnival, kids clubs are still open per usual. . . my kid is on vaction too - he wants special activities geared toward him and when I...

    Updated Palo Menu

Palo meals are probably a loss leader for DCL who hope to make a profit on alcohol sales - like everyone else they are using "these unprecedented times" to reset and recalibrate. Now instead of taking a loss on food, they can make profit on alcohol AND food! Win / Win for DCL as passengers pay...

What to do with kids on Dream?

yep. this is what's going to happen. My boy will meet others in kids club and then when their hour is up, they'll find each other and other kids to run around - not sure that they'll do if their allotted pool time is expired. Backetball courts and ping pong are closed - what about mini- golf? is...

No kids in adult areas even with nursery closed?

yes, i agree. I posted in another thread that the silver lining of these protocols is that it took cruising off the list of possible vacation ideas With you 100% - in another thread I posted that something similar - "what is my son supposed to do if he cant go to kids club, only gets and hour...

No kids in adult areas even with nursery closed?

I think these are snarky responses. One of the appeals of DCL - and part of the premium price - is the kid-oriented activities such as kids clubs & nursery. Kids deserve vacation too and getting away from their day-to-day is imporant too. My son is an extrovert and absolutely LOVES meeting new...

Whats your new protocol's silver lining?

my protocol silver lining is that it has helped me narrow down my vacation choices. Instead of wondering if I should cruise or visit one of the hundred other US-based vacation spots, now I know cruising isnt an option so I can just pick a new beach to visit!

    DCL Has Their Protocol Out!!!

I spend tons of quality time with my son. Vacation is for him too and frankly, he likes to do something other than the things we already do everyday together. He's and extrovert and LOVES playing at kids club - that's really the only reason we pay the premium for DCL. Take that away and he's...

    DCL Has Their Protocol Out!!!

HAHA! No thanks! The appeal of cruising is a laid back, care free experience and this is anything BUT! Kids club once a day? No ping pong? No Basketball? So what exactly are the kids going to do? crowd together in the halls? steep in the pools?

    walk-in available?

It's been a few years since I've been to Disney and I dont remember reservations being so difficult to obtain. I'm 30 days out from an impromptu trip and there's NOTHING available! Do they hold back any tables for walk-ins?

    2 passengers test positive

"A spokesperson for Celebrity explained the two positive passengers will remain in St. Maarten until they test negative, and then the cruise line will help them make travel arrangements to go home. " I love St. Maarten but I wouldnt want to be subject to their government's mandated quarantine.
