    Crowds next week

We made a last minute decision to spend 3 days at Bonnet Creek (near Disney) next week since we have to pick DD up from a camp in Northern Florida (we are from Illinois) and can’t be that close without going to the area. Disney parks are sold out several days, so looking at maybe Universal as...

    Title of new car

OP here- In case anyone is wondering (which I am guessing no one is,) we ended up putting the vehicle in both of our names. We talked to someone who said that it is a major issue in Illinois if something were to happen and the other person is listed on the vehicle as far as estate type things. I...

    Title of new car

Either I wrote wrong or perhaps you misread or I didn’t explain well (the latter is probably the case.) We would not ever have just him on the loan and me on the title. At the moment, it will either be both of us on the loan or just him. My concern is if he is the one on the title, does it...

    Title of new car

Due to unfortunate circumstances, we will be getting a new car. The vehicle I currently drive is titled to me (the main family vehicle) and my husband is currently carless. When we get the new car, it will become the main family vehicle (and therefore the one I drive) and DH will get the current...

    Is covid getting weaker?

It took me a few to realize it was an old thread as well. But it was interesting to look at where the thought process was a year and a half ago!

What sort of home could you never live in even if it was free and bills were always paid?

One that was under the ocean or underground. Anywhere that I couldn’t easily escape and could be trapped (claustrophobia)

    Grocery stores by you?

I am not sure the stores seem much busier as far as in the aisles, but in many places the check out lines seem way more crowded and you definitely have to wait longer to check out.

Tips to share on not getting Covid while at WDW?

You can do everything with caution and still catch it. The only way to prevent it is to never leave your house. My family was all boosted, almost always wore masks in indoor locations (my tween/teen children did occasionally see other kids for play dates at houses without masks, but are...

    Your Car Name…

My kids (11 and 13) dubbed our minivan “Butterscotch” when she turned over 200k miles a few months ago. I have no idea why.

What crazy life changes are you making?

Just be mindful….while avocados are very healthy, they are also very high in calories. I had to cut way back on my avocado consumption for that reason. I was eating them almost as often as that and the scale was definitely not happy about it.

Things that aren't significant that you have strong views about?

My 13yr old DD hates the silverware being correct. I set the table and every time she comes to the table, she moves her fork to the right side of her plate!!!!

Who was your favourite comedian as a child/teen?

Gallagher. But watching it as an adult, he was definitely not child appropriate!! We went to one of his live shows as a family when I was about 10.

    Babysitting Expectations?

I would provide food for the babysitter, but it sounds like this family you sat for does not. Teens get about $10/hr here so I would expect maybe to pay an adult a bit more. Editing to add I still would probably not pay an adult more than $15/hr. (Then again we rarely used a sitter and now we...

    Amazon frequent shopper

We have an Amazon visa that we only use on Amazon. It gives you credit back to spend on Amazon. (Don’t remember the percent.)

What was your weight before the pandemic vs. Now?

I was 220 in March 2020. I am now 165lbs. Having to teach a class on zoom when everything shut down and seeing what I looked like with the video of my face on the computer week after week was a big motivator. (I always thought I hid my weight well, but I had gained an additional 20lbs in...

    Has anyone tried this

I make it with Fage Greek yogurt which is extremely thick and then make sure to squeeze all the water out of the cucumber. It takes me a good five minutes and I use a strainer and paper towels. It must sit and marinate at least 4 hours for the flavors to meld together.

What were your parents common sayings growing up?

My dad always says/said “Goodbye (or goodnight), I love you, Don’t talk to strangers!” All together like that. He still says that to me and I am 44!

Do you use an Advent wreath during the Christmas season?

Yes, but we are Catholic use it during Advent, not Christmas. Christmas doesn’t technically start until December 25 (and then goes through January 6 or February 2nd- my family only celebrates through the Epiphany- Jan 6. Thus the 12 days of Christmas.)

Does anyone own Ebags Motherlode luggage, and have the support poles poke a hole thru the fabric, what did you do?

Hmmm…,we have never had that problem with ours and have owned for over five years. Sorry you are dealing with that!!! Could you maybe put heavy duty patches where the holes are? Not pretty, but it will make your luggage stand out in the airport! 😂
