I agree with your take on it. Left turn or turning around to the left. I always use 'runner turn signals/brake lights. It never hurts to let other runners and more importantly drivers know your intentions.

No problems moving to 15. The only thing I noticed is they don't want to stay tied. Save some 14 laces.

    The Running Thread—2023

Hey @garneska! Good to see you this morning. We finished at 1:10, not bad for 2 old guys that had possibly done too much carb-loading the night before. You probably passed us in the first quarter mile. Never saw Mr. @garneska. Assuming he packed it in once you passed. We hung out at 'M'...

Black shorts, white singlet with 37 on it (or 33 if I get lazy). Time group D, 1:20 time, hang out at M, then to the after party. I hope to meet some new people!

    The Running Thread—2023

Hey @garneska and @Disney at Heart and any other Peachtree folks: I'm in Time Group B, bro is in D, so I'll be dropping back to D. We are going to be slow, 1:17ish. We don't want Cardiac Hill to live up to its name. At the finish, we'll hang out at the 'M' (for Mickey) balloon, then head to the...

I'll be there. I managed to sneak (not illegally, thank you Dam Run!) into group B. I'll drop back to my bro's corral, probably D or E. I'll be running at his pace: 1:17 last year. Maybe see you at the start, if not, at the finish. Carb-reloading beverage at the ATC after-party? I lost track...

45th Annual Lake Hartwell Dam Run. Unofficially 59:42 for me. I'm happy with that. We had a little runDisney reunion before and after the race, including a post race snack picnic. Left to right: me, Mr. @garneska, @garneska, @Disney at Heart. And Whisky, the star of the show in front! Enjoyed...

    The Running Thread—2023

@garneska, @Disney at Heart I can give the intervals a try, violating the 'nothing new on race day' rule. I'll practice before then. Sub-55 will be a stretch for me. I suspect I will be bringing up the rear. Sigh. I was planning on bringing some food too. Maybe we should do some menu...

    Marathon Weekend 2024

Signed up for the dam run. Sub 55 is probably a dream for me. Also signed up for PTRR. I will be running with my Bro. E-F for us? We'll make plans to say Hi at the finish.

    Marathon Weekend 2024

Signing up today, so I don't forget it. (10K). Sub 55 or die trying. Pam is still on board to be the dam dog sitter.

I have multiple arm issues: carpal tunnel from years of software development and every tendon near my elbows hurt from overdoing it in the weight room. I have tennis elbow AND golfer's elbow. I wear stiff wrist braces at night for the carpal tunnel. For the elbows, I use ice (Styrofoam cup...

    Marathon Weekend 2024

Maybe I'm in for the 10k. Plan on an hour and 10 minutes! Pam might like the idea of rent-a-dog for an hour or so. Does she need to bring her own dam poop bags or are they provided?

Yes. It used to happen automatically, watch to iPhone, iPhone to Garmin website, Garmin to Strava. Now, I have to bring up the Garmin app on the phone and click 'Sync', sometimes twice. To be fair: Crappy cell signal, old Garmin 245, old iPhone 7, haven't updated the Garmin app lately.

Morning run on the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Greenville, SC. I needed a photographer. The runner I asked had on a runDisney T-shirt. I forgot to ask if they were on the running forum. If you're the runner that stopped to take a photo, thank you!

You said all the things I'm thinking. I'm 61. It makes me sad, but all my PRs are behind me. It's good to be running long enough for that to be the case. I'd like to do another marathon (number 13, this should go well!), but just not sure I could get through the training. I'm just finding joy...

August Totals: Running: 80 miles Average Pace: 11:13 Most miles since June 2021. Pace is slow compared to history, but moving in the right direction. At some point in your life, Easy, 5k, 10k, HM, M pace converge to 'your pace'. I have Rocket City Half on the calendar for the first week of...

July Totals: Running: 41 miles Medical procedures: 2 (Second to fix the first one) Blood Loss: 3-4 pints Losing 30% of your blood puts a real crimp in your running, especially in the heat of summer. I've been able to manage 2-3 SLOW miles at a time, with walk breaks. I'm on the road to...
