Almost 14 yr old allowed in Vibe on Fantasy?

When DD was 4 months from 11 she was not allowed to go to the Edge with her 12 yo brother due to the numbers on that cruise.

Almost 14 yr old allowed in Vibe on Fantasy?

It is dependent upon the number of kids onboard in each club for each cruise. It is better for DCL to advise that no exceptions are made instead of saying sometimes it happens. People would then complain onboard when told no that the CM they talked to on the phone said ......... The policy is...

    Had to cancel

The person you spoke with when you booked unfortunately gave you inaccurate information. That is what trip insurance is for. Thankfully you did purchase it, and DCL has nothing to do with the decision the insurance company makes. Contact the company and find out exactly what information you...

Why does everyone want their kids to move up?

When we first cruised on DCL the club and lab were further divided, and it was strictly enforced. The age groups were 3-4, 5-7, 8-9 and 10-12. When my 4 yo didn't want to go to the OC when the CM asked her if she wanted to join in the fun when I dropped my 6 yo off, the CM said that she would...

BBB time 5:30 and make it to 6:15 show?

I would miss Villains and get pictures without much waiting. If it was any other show I would recommend moving the appointment once you board.

    Double Stroller

Goodness! Talk about being harsh. OP, it doesn't sound like your double stroller is a side-by-side since it's only the width of a regular wheelchair. We took our jeep stroller on the ship for a few years. We did use it onboard and it really wasn't a huge issue. I know that DH went on an...

Is it is just me or is CC not that great as it should be..

CC is the only beach I like. We didn't have to haul chairs, umbrellas, a cooler, or all the other stuff needed when we take the kids to the beach at home. The shallow water at the family beach was great when the kids were young. I haven't been in the water there much because it was too cold...

Have seen all the shows on the Fantasy multiple times. When will they have new shows?

We are the same way. :) We know all the words but even the kids insist that we watch the shows each time we cruise.

What do you do if you see misbehaving kids?

Well, a lot of DISers were disgusted by their behavior and contacted DCL with the links about the concerns we had on future cruises. It didn't take long for DCL to contact the adults and the videos were taken down. There was an apology posted and something about being banned from DCL was going...

What do you do if you see misbehaving kids?

There are no cameras in the hallways, or at least no one pays attention to them if there are. The only evidence of cameras was released after the incident of the CM molesting a child in the elevator was posted. The post you are referring to was most likely referring to the PC repo cruise where...

Things no longer seen on DCL

I took this picture on our first cruise in November 2003. I wish that I had taken one with the kids because it was gone the next December.

Tried the Magic, just got off the Fantasy - a comparison

That is not reached by the stairway to satellite falls. The wading pool is on the main deck, which is open to everyone. When we have been on the Fantasy the wading pool had adults sitting in it, so there weren't any kids around.

Tried the Magic, just got off the Fantasy - a comparison

It's the same way on all DCL's ships with the adult pool area due to the deck design. The Fantasy does have the addition of Satellite Falls, however. Kids aren't allowed up the stairs to that area.

    Why are sail dates pulled?

Cruisefish.com doesn't tell you the percentage of total staterooms available. It could show 30% of categories but that means at least one room in each of those categories is available.

    Dummy Booking Advice

It's kindergarten. I honestly wouldn't worry about him missing time for a family cruise. Our kids missed at least a week each year until my son was in 8th grade. That was when his online HS classes made it more difficult for him to keep up with the work.

Touring Key West on your own?

The trolley offer kids under 12 free tickets at the port. There is a stand right as you get off the ship.

Is it warm enough to swim on a dec 10th western Caribbean cruise?

The pools are heated so it was warm enough to be in the water when we were in Alaska. They did have blankets around deck for the parent who watching their kids. ;) Most of our cruises have been in December through March to escape the cold at home. Be sure to pack lots of sun screen. You can...
