Convince me to take the leap and try RCCI ( and share your advice on ships:)

We are currently on Harmony ❤️ I’ll be writing up a detailed description, but we have had an amazing vacay! We miss some DCL things, but the gaps are filled with many different options onboard this massive ship. Take the leap - but go all in - do a week in the big ships :) Our kids are 7 & 9, fwiw.

    Basic RCCL Questions

I have been reading through these threads over the last few months, but I still have some questions that I’m hoping for some insight... 1) Dining - We have My Time Dining, but there are (and always have been) limited times to reserve for the MDR. Am I doing something wrong? We have a party of...

First Time Cruise out of NY - A Few Questions

You don’t need reservations for shows, but I think it’s worth noting that there are ticketed events - like the character breakfast (not sure if they do that on 5-day?), the princess & frozen meet and greets, and the sports simulator. I have to recommend Palo brunch even if it is your first...

How does dinner work? RCCL Harmony

Thanks! I was actually more curious about why I should pick a set dining time for the MDRs or if we should pick MyTimeDining? We will prob do MDRs most nights, so I don’t know if, for example, service is slower during the seatings at MDRs if your on MyTime?

How does dinner work? RCCL Harmony

We just booked a cruise for Jan ‘19 on Harmony. I know some restaurants are upcharges & require reservations. What’s the scoop on the MDRs? My time vs specific time? Pros/Cons of both, please! We are a party of 7: 2 grandparents, 1 couple w/2 kids ages 7 & 9, one single adult. Thanks!!!

Disney Wonder $13k to Alaska vs $6k on RC

I’ve sailed DCL, RC, and HA...for that kind of price diff & getting to check out a new ship, I’d try RC. Even if you hate it, you could book a week at the Poly to lick your wounds (or a Caribbean DCL) & still have only spent $13k

    Thoughts on Uber after disembarkation?

In your situation, a private car is absolutely the easiest. You can even book a grocery stop to grab some water/snacks. We use happy limo.

You’re a really cool sister - not helpful to your question, but thought you deserved a pat on the back for your plan to make special memories with your family ❤️ My kids are still young, but I hope I raise them to do thoughtful things like this.

"Official" 2018 Disney After Hours (DAH) Thread (Now Closed, see New 2019 Thread)

I am excited that I purchased the 3/8 DAH Tix! Thanks for all the great info throughout this thread. Questions: 1) Can I book fastpasses to use before 9pm? If yes, I have our MBs from last year’s trip...the sales guy said I just link the confirm # to my old MBs? 2) Where is the best place to...

Surprise gift bag for first time cruisers

The little light cards are a fun idea! Decorated cardboard drink holders for easy transport of multiple beverages are another helpful & easily packable item that a first-time cruiser might love. We are also big fans of taking a new (sealed) hand soap. We prefer using the pump soap for washing...

DCL vs. Sandals all inclusive vs. Aulani

I’ve not been to Hawaii, but have been to a Sandals (preKIDS) & on 3 DCL cruises with kids - 2 nonDCL PRE-kids....loved Sandals...loved ALL 5 cruises ❤️ My thing - as someone from the other (kids) side - there is really nothing you CAN’T do when you have kids on a DCL. The nursery & kids’ clubs...

Wow!!!!! That sounds like SO MUCH FUN!!!! I think you & your friends will have a blast! Extra Splurge If you want an extra splurge & you can swing it, go for the CC Cabana. They are pretty tough to get, and DEFINITELY not a necessity for a good time, but I sure would love hanging in a cabana...

Individual Disney Youth Education Seiries (YES program) discontinued?

I am looking into the YES program for my Girl Scout Troop. Is there anyone out there who has experience planning a group YES trip? Also - which are the favorite classes? Our girls will likely be 5th graders by the time we fundraise :) Thanks in advance!
