It isn't as big of a deal when the kids are little. I am not the pack mule the stroller is. I can see a family of cargo shorts wearers when the kids get older though. I could easily just leave everything but some sunblock and my wallet back in the room.

I agree. We try to stay at all of the hotels and I like to stay in all of them. I also am lucky enough to be in a family of DVC members who all have different home resorts.
