    Galveston itineraries

I read they signed a deal with Progreso and have to sail there so many times. I think Galveston is the main departure to Progreso. I wish they still did the 7 day to Bahamas. They used to be pretty full. But a lot of cruises now seem to be under 7 days. Must be the new model. I'm with you...

    Earliest Flight From Port Canaveral

Easily. Earlier this year we did walk-off with the DCL bus and got to the airport before 9am. And that wasn't a completely smooth debarkation either. It took an extra 15-20 minutes to let us off. With pre-check it was really smooth even though the lines looked long. Maybe 10 minutes. We...

    PC Terminal Change for Wish Nov 11, 2024 - June 2, 2025

Curiously, how does this affect parking? If you park at one terminal but return at another, that seems an issue. I don't know the larger layout, but it would be a pain to have to sit around and wait for a shuttle to get back to your car.

DCL Bus to/from Port Canaveral recent experiences

We took the bus from Saratoga a couple months ago. It was smooth. We met around 9-930am, don't remember exact time. Bags were picked up right at 7 from the room. We were waiting in a lounge near the counter service restaurant. We got to the port after 1 other stop. We checked in very...

    Castaway Cay 5K medal

It is still on your own and you get the medal at the bike stand. We just sailed a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure it is the same medal we got last summer.

    Would you get a MB+?

It's all preference and cost-benefit analysis that is unique to each person. The bands are great if you plan use the pool or water slides. Rather than leaving the keycard "hidden" somewhere, you just wear the band. I personally like it, though we go to Disney parks every year so it works out...

clarity on iMessage use while onboard and internet packages cost

The iMessage is free, but glitchy. In our party, 2 people were kicked out and couldn't reconnect without getting onto the internet again. I heard guest services can give you free internet to fix it. Otherwise, it works well. You can connect with those on the ship and people on shore. Just...

Another price increase on alcohol tastings

It's like so many things with DCL and Disney in general. Word of mouth about how great the tasting experience spreads and it becomes impossible to book them. Now Disney will push up the prices until they get to the point where they can't raise the price anymore. So these might seem expensive...

Boarding before your port arrival time? I'm

Don't you have to go in and change it so they don't charge you for the DCL transfers?

We were just on the Magic and definitely had outlets on both sides of the bed.

Are cruises still sailing at reduced capacity?

Magic had 2600 on Thanksgiving cruise and word is the next one was also over 2,000. All of the people but still not many activities, unless you plan to stand in lines for character pictures all day. Those lines were all long and often clogged the 3rd and 4th decks.

    Galveston parking?

The express lot is not covered anyway. It is also very small and you have to reserve early. It's very convenient otherwise. There are a few options. There is a covered facility called Port Parking (not to be confused with Port of Galveston Parking). It is a good facility with a shuttle...

Does iMessage work with iPhone 14?

Just sailed with a 14 Pro and had no problems messaging family on the ship and others back on shore.

    Pirate Night on Christmas day?

I would be pretty mad if I paid the premium fare for a cruise on Christmas and they had pirate night on Christmas. That would be the most ridiculous thing and I would demand a refund.

    Dinner Seating

We've sailed twice and it seemed everyone was getting their own table. However, tables were so close together your "own table" consisted of about a 2 foot gap from the next family.

Antigen Testing, i know, i know

No, you can use any proctored test. You upload the results to Safe Passage.

    Covid testing at Port Canaveral

The main advantage of testing early (besides cost) is not getting all the way to the port, having someone test positive and then be stuck trying to get home. Disney will get you back to the airport, but their letter makes it clear they will do absolutely nothing else. If you are flying in, you...

    EMED vs INSPIRE COVID PROCTORING

eMed is $25 each and have to buy 6 packs. At least we did a few months ago. That said, eMed was very easy to use. We got the certificate within 10 minutes and took about 12 hours to get clearance in Safe Passage. Just make sure you allocate 30 minutes without distractions. You have to hold...

    Disney Wish Promenade/Walking track video?

The stairs are steep also. It would be dangerous to run up/down them. You can still do a walk, just turning around mid-ship and going back the other way. However, one other issue is the shuffleboard courts. They are directly in the walking path and not much room to get around when the...
