Shuttle to Atlantis from Nassau port?

Going on a 5-night Dream soon and it stops at Nassau Last time around we decided to stay on the ship but now we want to go to Atlantis to grab some drinks, play a few bucks in the casino, eat lunch. Are there non-DCL shuttles that go to Atlantis right at the port, or do you need to walk out on...

    Favorite Cruise Directors

Yep - And Jo was hands down the best. No one ever comes close. I was going to say, maybe we should start a similar thread but about club hosts But since Jo is gone, I haven't even paying attention to who was the host when we cruised. The concept of club host has lost all its meaning for me...

    Palo Buffet vs. Table Service

That plate looks pretty good, thanks for sharing. We sailed the Wonder right after Covid and the menu options at Palo were kind of limited, as well as the service, we thought. Thank God things are back to normal. We might try Palo again on our next cruise to see how it is. I only Wish they...

    Palo Buffet vs. Table Service

Yeah, the Palo buffet was a paradise for us vegetarians (not vegans tho, imo) The cheese section alone was worth whatever they charged. So many cheeses to choose from, and the bread selection was very good too. The few times we went before it went menu-only, I used to eat only cheese with bread...

Recently off the Dream- Happy to try to answer questions

Who was the captain and cruise director? Was the ship full? You sailed out of USFLL? How was the boarding process? (we've never been there and are used to PC's Disney terminal being so efficient and organized)

How does this double dip work?

That's so interesting to read, it's a fairly legitimate reason to dock overnight at cc. I Wonder if this has happened more times throughout the years.

    DCL cruisers tried Royal...

When there are literally dozens and infinitely better options than Royal, especially DCL, yes.

    DCL cruisers tried Royal...

This is quite the damning report, and I appreciate you writing it. It is well written and to the point. We never seriously considered sailing any other than DCL, but even if we did, Royal was a the bottom of our list, along with Carnival. Reading this, it's out of our list. I didn't even go on...

How does this double dip work?

That's a good one too I hadn't thought about. Plus spa services, drinks at the various bars, BBB, etc... DCL wants ppl to spend as much $ as possible and when the ship is docked at CC or at a POC there's less traffic on the ship and hence less $ spent

How does this double dip work?

We haven't been on a double dip cruise, but we have our first one coming up on the Dream, from USFLL This double dip is: cc-sea day-cc-USFLL Meaning, the ship doesn't go to another port and then comes back after How does it work? Does the ship goes in circles close to the island, or it...

Shuttle to Sanford area hotel late in the evening?

Shhh.. you're not supposed to say that!. It's a secret! you don't want the crowds to find out and ruin the airport.. Seriously though, I also LOVE that airport.. had to use it out of necessity one day due to an emergency and I was impressed by how well run it is, how clean and efficient...

    Healthier restaurant choices

I second this suggestion. It's in the Doctor Phillips area which is kind of close to the parks, and also, there is a very good Mexican restaurant in that same strip mall: Rocco's - it has very good and healthy food IMO and a very nice vibe which your daughters will enjoy being in their 20's...

    Nice restaurant in Nassau?

Thanks.. we considered it and eventually we'll take her there.. it's just that we've become so disappointed in Palo since they did away with the buffet that it doesn't excite us anymore as it used to years ago. Our own DD years ago was so looking forward to go when she became 18 but since they...

    Nice restaurant in Nassau?

Sailing the Wish next weekend for my DD(almost18)'s birthday. Her birthday falls on the Saturday we're at Nassau. She agreed to get off the ship to stretch our legs and go to a restaurant for lunch. We've been to Atlantis a few times and don't want to go there.. we just don't like it anymore...

    Cheese

Update on this, The packaged cheese I brought onboard in Rome didn't raise any concerns. I bought more again in Messina (damn you Italians and your awesome cheese) and didn't even raise an eyebrow at customs or at the ship.

    Cheese

Thanks for all the replies I purchased a couple of vacuum packed parmigiano and pecorino and will report back if they're allowed in. If not, I wasted 25 euros, not the end of the world. I do plan on eating some onboard if I can sneak them in. A plate of tomato slices + cheese + a glass of white...
