I have stayed at the Disneyland hotel & Hollywood hotel with 3 kids. Honestly the Hollywood was more kid friendly, your kids can be kids there and no one will look twice. They have a great games room too + pool.

My kids got autographs from every character in Hong Kong Disneyland, even Lotso and Baymax! We seemed to be the only ones asking though, others just wanted a pic. eta: in Hong Kong they signed in English.

Stay at the hollywood hotel. Much better with kids. We have stayed at both and the Hollywood hotel has a much more casual child friendly feel. ETA: we have been twice with 3 kids.

The park looks awesome to me. We were sold once we saw the toy story hotel as we love toy story here lol I can't wait to read everyones trip reports! Hope to go to Shanghai Disney in the future sometime :)

It doesnt really matter if it has a bunch of duplicate rides though? Those are the 'core' rides which you think of when you think of Disneyland. I dont think anyone in China would care that other parks have the same rides..and this park is mainly aimed at the chinese population.

Lots of Japanese ppl have started coming because apparently in Tokyo you need to wait 4 hours to meet a character! Zanzibar - lol..I have been wondering if the blonde lady was you since I got back a few weeks ago. HK Disney is getting popular with Aussies I think as there were many more there this time than last time i visited in 2014. Lots of Japanese ppl now too.

The show is on regularly now as in several times a day. Get there early as once seats are full that is it and you'll need to wait again for the next show. We went about 45min in advance and the line was already forming.

Great report! About the jungle cruise..I watched it last year and they did have 'jokes' in the english version. Also parade was about 20 minutes..it stopped for awhile and my kids got to dance in the parade, awesome!

When I stayed at the Hollywood hotel in March, I could see construction work from the window. Do you guys think it was for the new hotel?

We visited in March. We didn't get any first time badges. It was my sons birthday and they gave us birthday badges for all our kids, without us asking..
