You’re right. I’ll admit I let it bother me more than I should have. Though, I don’t think it was the eyesore itself, but what it represented in how some people let their own comforts, desires or laziness affect others.

The towels were there at least two days and we noticed that the pile increased in size from one day to the next. This wasn’t the only room where I noticed this happening, but this was the one we had to actually walk around to get to our room.

DVC probably isn’t staffed for it because daily housekeeping is not included in our dues. It’s my understanding you have to request and pay for an additional towel service if desired.

This was near the end of a main hallway. We stayed in 9440.

But that’s my point. I know by staying DVC that I won’t have my room serviced until Day 4. If I couldn’t figure out how to manage to the wet towels in my room, my solution would not be to have other guests looking at my mess.

What has bothered me most about the mask requirement while here at Aulani is the one for the outdoor cast members. It seems so unnecessary.

Across the street the restaurant/eateries are all suitable for children. There is Monkeypod, Island Vintage Coffee (which also has Acai bowls and breakfast and lunch/dinner sandwiches), an ice cream shop, Eggs-n-Things, and hot food at the ABC store. The shops are touristy gifts and apparel...

I’ve seen people smoking by the public beach restroom just past the wedding pavilion and on the short path to the public parking lot just past that same pavilion. I’ve also seen people smoking on the sidewalk in front of Aulani and on the street between Aulani and Four Seasons.

For the most part, you’ll need your own umbrella. I highly recommend Kailua and Lanikai beaches. Kailua has parking and restroom facilities. Lanikai is very near Kailua with no restrooms and you need to park on the street, but it’s worth visiting. It’s devastatingly beautiful.

I noticed that within the daily activities listed on the Aulani app there are “Kalepa’s Store Pin Trading Hours”.

One thing that I find a little helpful is the Aulani app. View all daily activities. You’ll see about 5-days out. It gives you an idea of what to expect in terms of activities, but also provides sign-up details if you look at the details of each activity.

We did Climb Works two years ago and thought it was fantastic. The guides were great, we felt very safe and it was educational. Not to mention, it was really fun and beautiful.
