    That’s exactly what I said.

The Sean incident on the show today.

A few things: 1) The First Amendment protects people to be able to video and photograph anything from a public location. When on private property, such as Disney, however, the owner or the owner’s agents (CM’s) can ask/demand you not to do so, and if the warning is ignored, the offender can be...

Food at the Mercantile at Wildness Lodge

We stayed there in June. And better than the English muffins, they had white powdered donuts. They also had an assortment of donuts and coffee rolls down the hallway. Just get those instead. Plus they had beer in the Mercantile. Washed down the donuts really well. One night, I had a few too...

What can or should Disney do about the crowds?

I don’t think Disney has any incentive to control crowds since people keep coming no matter the cost. They encourage crowds - not the other way around. I think there are only two things that would control crowds. 1) An economic recession or dare I say depression. (Job numbers have never been...

    Cast Member Aspirations

I have no advice or help to offer, other than to say life is a journey and not a destination. Whatever you decide to do, you will be presented with both opportunity and with challenge. Rich or poor. Young or old. Orlando or North Carolina. I wish you well in your journey and in following your...

    Latest Disney Dining Show podcast

Jim - thanks for sharing this. That’s an amazing and inspiring week of dining. I didn’t think $3370 worth of food in 8 days was possible. I’m curious - What percentage of your days are devoted to dining? And how much time do you get to spend in the parks?

    Latest Disney Dining Show podcast

Nope, sorry, it’s still throwing money out the window. I have a lot of Disney stock, though, so by all means, keep that reckless cash flowing my way.

Just say no to the Dining Plan. There is no reasonable cost-saving argument in its favor. If you need to “trick” your brain into not worrying about the money by pre-paying your food budget (even though you know you’re paying more than you would by paying as you go), then you need to work out...

Tables in Wonderland discussion- Dis dining show

Cast members get anywhere from 20-35% on food and merchandise. Plus a few vouchers each year for up to 50% off a meal.

Tables in Wonderland discussion- Dis dining show

Great point! And it further proves you have to spend A LOT of money on food and drink to make it pay off. It’s sort of a sucker deal unless 1) you’re wealthy and can afford a couple grand in meals at Disney or 2) you’re not wealthy but you just spend every last penny at Disney World restaurants.

Tables in Wonderland discussion- Dis dining show

The math they used on the show was a little wonky. But here’s a simple rule of thumb: You need to spend $1,000 to break even on a couple’s membership. $200 membership = 20% of $1,000 If you spend more than $1,000 then it’s a no-brainer. Anything less is giving away extra money to Disney.

    Episode 999

I was dreamin' when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray. But I saw Pete Werner at his table, so I knew it must be Tuesday. This one was kind of special, I should have sent the team a cake. Pete was telling everybody, “Stay out of the damn lakes.” Say, one thousand zero zero, Kevin Klose...

Pete is right about lack of merchandise for men

Same here. I’ll buy an occasional Disney tee-shirt. But I wouldn’t be comfortable walking around town or work in a Disney shirt. It’s kind of like women wearing the mouse ears - it’s all fine and good and cute when you’re on Disney property, but if you walk around with Mickey ears when you get...

Pete is right about lack of merchandise for men

My guess is it’s probably a supply and demand thing. Although there are no doubt some eager male shoppers in this thread and this diehard community, I don’t think there are enough to get Disney’s attention or to turn a significant profit. Most men I know wouldn’t wear Mickey polos or golf...

The entertainment from this thread more than makes up for Tuesday’s no show.

    No Show Today

I would agree - except it’s not really free. First, that notion went out the window the moment Pete took to Patreon. If you’ve been a Patreon supporter, I doubt you’d still think of it as “free.” Secondly, if you’ve looked around YouTube, this site, or the podcast, you’d see sponsors and...

    No Show Today

I get the love and comfort one gets from a favorite TV, radio, or podcast show. But if you are relying on a show to make or break your day/week, you’ve got to seriously take a look at your life and evaluate some other options. And if, after you evaluate those options, you come to the...
