What is your Favorite Character Interaction/Photo?

One night on the Fantasy, I saw Captain Hook and Smee ready to take some pics. So I got in line for my first-ever cruise character pic and then politely informed the Captain I only wanted one with his first mate, who's always been a favorite. Well, I didn't take into account Hook's ego and he...

    Princess Weekend 2020

We have always driven to the 5K from a resort for the handful of weekends we've done. The traffic has been fine - smaller field than the bigger races. But we do try to follow what the guide says, re: time to get into the corrals. Not sure how much time it saves, but we don't feel so rushed /...

    The Everything Pooh Sized Thread

My hubs rocks the XL socks too - and I'm sad to say I've never seen any licensed Disney socks that would fit him. The most fun socks I've found are online at a site called The Sock Drawer - many cute designs, but again nothing licensed. I'll be interested too if anyone knows where to get them!

    Empire State Building

ESB has a VIP ticket option that, if you buy it online prior to arriving, will get you from the front door to the top of the building in about 5 minutes. It is double the main ticket price, so obviously not going to be everyone's idea of money well spent. But we did our visit that way at 'prime...

    Seniors in December

I've been during that time the last few years - crowds are very reasonable. You might also enjoy the festival booths at Epcot for the holidays.

    Body Glide

I bet Fit2Run at Disney Springs would have it or something similar.

    First time offsite in years..

I've stayed at both that you mention; the DoubleTree's standard rooms are actually suites, so the extra room might be a good choice for you. If you plan to spend time in Disney Springs, though, the Holiday Inn (and the Hilton) are much closer to the paths and bridge that get you over there. I...

    Target behind WDW

We were there pretty recently. It is seriously the nicest Target I have ever seen.

    Best brownies at WDW?

Not in the parks, but the brownie at Sprinkles in Disney Springs is unbelievably good.

FOP vs Harry Potter in terms of motion sickness?

FJ is the only ride I've ever been disoriented by - almost fell over when I got off the thing. On FOP, I found that I needed to focus on looking with purpose, if that makes sense. I kept my head as still as I could and turned it with intention to look around. Anytime I allowed my eyes to move...

    Most like GF?

I agree with SharonZ that nothing is quite like the Grand, but I'd throw out the Beach Club as an alternative with excellent theming and some elegance in its bones. It smells good in the (albeit much smaller) lobby too.

Disney Designer Doll Collection: The Premiere Series

Ha! The raffle at the store was weird. I happen to live where there are two Disney Stores about a mile apart and which open an hour apart. So I queued up at the first one an hour before it opened - about 8 people hanging out outside the store. You place your name on this little entry form, and...

2018 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 30 to November 12, 2018

We brought a $2 square plastic dinner plate from Target with us last year. Worked like a charm and was small enough to slip in our string backpack.

    Best moisture wicking clothing value

I’ve gotten some very serviceable workout / tech fabric pieces from Old Navy.

Best Disney Springs restaurant for a solo diner for Friday night dinner

I am a big introvert myself, but I’ve grown to like eating at the bar. At Disney Springs in particular, I really enjoy grabbing a seat at Homecomin or Raglan Road. I go to Orlando for work a bunch, and these places have been good to me - no reservation needed, just the right amount of attention...

    Shoe Strategy

I try to bring two pairs of sneakers as well as flip flops. Sometimes, when my feet are still dead the next morning after a long day at the parks, I absolutely loathe putting back on the shoes that did it. So the second pair of sneaks help.

    Off site Mexican Any recommendations?

I'll second Rocco's Tacos - I really enjoy their menu and atmosphere. Uncle Julio's is always good too.

Best comfortable women's shorts for August heat in the parks

I second Columbia. I love their waistbands as well. My usual strategy for super-hot weather is tech fabric to help wick away the moisture. Same for tops too.

movies--are they that big a deal?

Yep, we like the movies too. And like an earlier poster, we happened to be on the Fantasy when Frozen premiered, and there was a great combo of anticipation and fun in the packed theatre (although I don't think anyone knew what a phenomenon it would become). My other favorite movie thing - we...

    Sprained ankle...

I was recovering from a broken ankle last year, and relied on WDW's wheelchairs for two days (MK and Epcot). I agree with the above poster that the parking lots can be a killer. We had a temp handicap pass, and even that part of the lot goes on forever. They do station some chairs here and there...
