    NY Marathon

Just decided to check in and see who here was running NYC...I am in Green Wave 1 Corral A, but am probably going to drop back to Orange Wave 1 Corral B to run with a friend. A nice benefit of moving from Green to Orange is that I get to run on top of the bridge, gotta take in that view!

2019 MSC Welland Long Course Recap Double Triathlon Weekend! Rose City Long Course Triathlon for me on Saturday and the Wilmot Aces Kids Triathlon on Sunday for Jackson. My weekend started early Saturday morning as I loaded up the Jeep and I hit the road just before 5am. I had a nice drive up...

CheapRunnerMike's Race Recaps - Boston 2016 and a Bunch of Triathlons

2019 Forest City Road Race Half Marathon Recap I’m back. After taking most of last year off and suffering the fitness consequences, it was time to once again don the Sparkle Visor. I did get to do a few races in 2018 but they were all ‘fun’ races…it was now time for me to get competitive again...

    Every Mile is a Miracle

February 22 is National Margarita Day, making February an ideal month for a margarita challenge! The only problem with a February margarita challenge is that there's only 28 days :( Fins up!

How about upping the difficulty for Dopey with the Bird Box Dopey Challenge...running all four races blindfolded. I would also like to see awards at races for best costume, and I'm not just talking about rD or Halloween races. Or maybe just a Sparkle Division??

I had a triathlon coach for a couple of years and her plans worked well for me, so I have learned to expropriate the best parts of those plans around a run-only plan. I know my body and what I can put it through to get results, and that is more valuable than any plan you can find on the...

Roxymama's 5k to Marathon, Time to Collect Another Castle

Yup, that's my toe too! I'd take a picture, but gross. Just look at your toe, then add some hair, and that's basically it. Oh right, add some hair to the toe, then some tropical Cajun shrimp...that's my toe ;)

Coming along nicely! I was totally thinking cross fit when I was reading this. Pictured Billy throwing the cinder blocks into place, then taking a sledgehammer to the wall.

Forgot to mention that Chicago left me with a black toenail as well...I've had them before and never actually lost the nail so there's hope for yours. Plus you can always hide the black with nail polish (me, not so much).

Triathlons, like all the time. Also anything that is a smaller race not costing hundreds of dollars...shutting down roads costs a lot of money. I have almost been hit a few times during races. I have been known to get angry and pound my fist on someone's vehicle after they have nearly hit me...

Great race and great recap! Flat Coke is somehow the greatest thing ever come the last few miles of a race, it is magical stuff.

Roxymama's 5k to Marathon, Time to Collect Another Castle

So way back when Chicago 2013 was my first ever marathon and I was coerced into Goofy to back it up. Was only doing one race and it somehow became two before I realized what was happening. Just sayin'. Have fun with the training this go around...Disney is a great way to cap off your marathon...
