I also wonder if they will restrict reservations in the last few years of the contracts. How will they handle all the BCV owners wanting to get the last stay in before their points expire - me included :) You won’t be able to bank your points.
I think this exactly. When 2042 hits and BCV/BWV get repackaged - resale will certainly be excluded from booking there (unless you buy a new resale contract at one of those resorts). This is the beginning of home resort only for resale. It’s a long game but will get there over time.
I definitely think this is a longer term strategy on their part. It is the beginning of resales having home resort privilege only. Once the 14 existing resorts expire they will be resold in the same manner would be my guess. And since resales at Riviera can’t trade out they need to cap trade in...
We did this last August. Actually stayed at Sirata under a Travelzoo deal before heading up to Disney. Sirata was nice but I would definitely try to get a balcony room if you can. We didn’t have one and wished we did. Spinners restaurant at the top of the hotel next door is great. Beach there is...
Yup got it. I ski quite a bit being in the northeast. Familiar with the “quick get your skis in the slot and jump on.” I would think these will go a bit slower though at loading what with kids and strollers etc. I’m really looking forward to seeing this system!
I came right here as soon as I read the release! Thought they were talking about Riveria too. Glad to know it is Boardwalk - although would be fun if Rivera guests have to jump on as it slows #nothanks
Have a question on one-time use points. I have a 7 night stay booked with home resort points and am 4 points short for the 8th night. Was thinking of buying 4 OTU points to cover this. Can I do this at 7 months out from the first night of my stay or 7 months out from the night I want to add...
I transferred points from my account to my parents. We have same resort and use year. I do all the booking and points showed up in their account immediately. Have yet to transfer from an unknown party.
If resort and UY match you will see them and can book online. They show up just like any other points under your membership. Just did this for my recent booking.
I have not done research but if I had to guess I would say the fall is the best value. I think the cash room prices have caught up with demand but it is still a low point requirement time. The worst “value” would probably be the summer if I had to guess. I have seen some great cash discounts...
Yes we have. Only bought enough points for every other year but we upgraded to an annual pass during our first stay as members, so it made sense to come back. Got a great TA rate last August. Now I just renewed my pass and have a cash stay in January and points stay in August. Guess I...
Eek! We take that path all the time. To Epcot, pool, ESPN ... never seen anything, but someone in the group usually comments on how they’d never want one of those rooms!
It is a longer walk but we tend to walk back from the pool on the walkway to Epcot turning off on that path (gate) just before the bridge. It is longer but you are outside the whole time until you get to the villas.
We booked a dedicated 2 bedroom at BCV around Veterans Day for last year (2016) at about 9 months out. The Thursday and Friday night (Veterans day) were gone already but we were able to get sat-thurs after Veterans Day. At 11 months I think it will be fine.
We do love Stormalong bay but would have bought there with or without it. Love being close to Epcot and the general light and airy feel of the resort. We also walk to the studios so walking to 2 parks is a huge plus. We have 2 small kids so SAB can be overwhelming sometimes. When they are older...
I agree a TOTWL 2.0 would be very interesting. They could make it exclusive to DRR at least at first and maybe expand on it later. You are also potentially talking fireworks views from 2 parks. I could see this being the exclusive perk to sell this resort.
