Any word or any prep work being done for new DVC cabins?

Wouldn't it be fun to gather a bunch of Dis-Campers and go over to where the action is and start laying down blankets and 'saving' spots a la Main St before the parades & fireworks? Then show up at 3.30 (Geddit?) just sit there and watch them work.

DAS Outrage vs Genie Plus Outrage?

Here's my pessimistic Eeyore viewpoint. There were a lot of GAC abusers who were either lying to get a GAC for personal use with 'excessive' friends and family or individuals using a valid one for 'commercial purposes'. Disney cracked down and DAS was born. Now DAS has a lot of abusers who...

24 nights?? You lucky pup, you. I guess we were lucky we went when we did (last month) as we were in 100 (fav loop). 3 months is crazy considering these are pre-fab. But maybe it's like when you see a subdivision go up....first the foundation pourers do their bit for the whole subdivision...

Maybe they're hoping to reel prospective buyers in using the Cogsworth Method; "Flowers, chocolates, promises you don't intend to keep". Hopefully at some point someone on here will sit through the sales presentation and report back on any verbal 'future plans' because Disney sure isn't going...

Any word or any prep work being done for new DVC cabins?

Kind of an inconvenient place for any sort of 'DVC only' building since it's not near the cabin loops. And since it doesn't seem to include parking I'd say it's not a dedicated check in facility. No one's going to want to schlep all their bags from Outpost to Meadows on the bus then schlep...

Any word or any prep work being done for new DVC cabins?

@Stratman50th @Teamubr This is exactly what I've been pondering. There just don't seem to be the amenities that other DVC properties have and owners/prospective owners might expect; nicer pools (some 'private' I think), sit-down eateries, and from where the cabins loops are there's really not...

Yeah, but we're also 3000 miles from the Fort.

You'll have a great time!!!! And remember....pics or it didn't happen! (In other words, let us know how your trip goes)

Get your Cabin now, only $49,900 complete

We have the room on our property, but the article says they'll only deliver within 25 miles of Orlando, so that let's us out lol. I think that $50k delivered for fully furnished with appliances isn't a bad deal IF they're in reasonably good shape as far as plumbing, electrical, structurally and...

Any word or any prep work being done for new DVC cabins?

See, now I'm picturing you in camo, belly crawling near the loop at midnight with night vision goggles and a camera with a HUGE infrared telephoto lens. Contrairiwise....strolling casually down the loop at noon with your phone held up in front of your face engaging in an 'intense' fake phone...

".....there are big "Pictures and Videos are PROHIBITED" signs on all the fences." Yeah, like that's gonna stop people. Do they not want to show construction because they want people to think the cabins magically appeared in their sites? Oh wait.....they probably do.

    Trail from FW to Wilderness

Oh I've seen a few of those advertised. I think it's a pretty good deal, especially if they have good security on the empty homes when residents are off on long trips. We haven't 'downsized' yet (we have country acreage & an old farmhouse, far too big at this stage) but that's one of our...

Any word or any prep work being done for new DVC cabins?

Sort of the old 'bait and switch' if they aren't honest about where the 'real' cabin loops are. At least the 'real' cabin loops are all in one area so we can ignore them if we wish. The 2 in Loop 100 are going to stand out like a sore thumb amidst the RVs, the Loop 200 CS, the wood fences...

    Trail from FW to Wilderness

The place near us is part of a well known 'rather upscale' retirement community company, initials 'SC'. There are quite a few of them in the Southwest. I'm not sure if that company has 'infiltrated' FLA yet lol. It doesn't allow on street or driveway parking, your cars must be in your garage...

    Trail from FW to Wilderness

And that, I suppose, is another reason we can't have nice things, right? I wonder, what with wanting to make DVC cabins 'attractive', if they'll widen the path and perhaps put in painted lanes, speed bumps, and bollards. Maybe a traffic light or two. Put a security 'cruiser GC' with a radar...

Any word or any prep work being done for new DVC cabins?

I speculated early on about that. It makes perfect sense since it's a stone's throw from the boat dock so relatively easy for prospective buyers to come and check out without driving to the Fort. But there goes my wish for 2 more RV sites in that (our favorite) loop. Sigh.

    Trail from FW to Wilderness

That wouldn't surprise me one bit. More dining options and 'upscale' dining at WL. And I daresay the DVC crowd would appreciate an easier way to get to WL than the bus or driving their own car, like say a golf cart or bicycles. Were golf carts ever allowed on the 'old' trail? I'm fine with...

Any word or any prep work being done for new DVC cabins?

I hear you. My 'needed item' is my hair dryer (the hard hood type) & huge rollers, lol. The only way to control my frizzy locks in the FLA humidity. Haven't quite figured out that one yet. A hot pot (assume you mean an electric kettle?) is a good idea! I'd probably buy a cheapie at Target...

    Rv Backing up

@DisneyMountainWoman We love YNP. Fishing Bridge is great, especially the new section. The only other pull throughs I remember are at Mammoth & Grant, but those are long & easy! We've always wanted to stay at Canyon, but haven't found a site there we're confident we'd fit in easily or that...

    Rv Backing up

I hear you about backing in someone else's rig, @Stratman50th! nDH is great at giving 'hand signal' instructions (he could give a naval LSO tips) but he would never be responsible for backing in a stranger's rig. Too much liability! @DisneyMountainWoman Do you think your dad would be willing...
