    Marathon Weekend 2020

Had a surprise stress test today! Went to print waiver and not found. Found out when I cancelled my husband's race back in September, they cancelled mine too (have runDisney emails confirming only his was to be cancelled). After first person saying nothing can be done, supervisor sorted it out...

    Marathon Weekend 2020

I am planning to do ROTR tomorrow, too, staying at Caribbean. Had early flight today (on MDE right now!!) and doing 10 on Friday, so figured I may as well do early on Thursday too!!

    Marathon Weekend 2020

Thank you all for these fabulous motivating posts! I have had some health problems over the fall, so training wasn't happening. I am only doing the 10k, but have been concerned about even managing that. This is my third runDisney 10 and you are all reminding me it will be awesome and to have fun!!

Everything You Need to Know about Redeeming Airmiles for Disney World & Land & Universal Tickets

Adding a bit of first hand experience for AM purchased, Canadian discounted WDW passes. I bought some last year and one this year through the Cdn discount offer. Although the AM site said must be used last year, there was no expiration on the tickets I received and was able to link them to MDE...

    Airmiles Armchair Chatter

Some of the ones near us have groceries, so we buy milk and cheese of it is on sale, even bread, crackers, cereal. With 2 kids that eat a ton, I can usually do $50 of groceries and get their bonus offers when they have them.

    Marathon Weekend 2020

Darn!! Missed the available bibs again! Also dealing with flight changes from Canada and thinking about shortening the trip if I can't get the 5k...

    Marathon Weekend 2020

Totally feeling for those who had put off registering for the full! I was sorting out travel plans so only registered for the 10k when it had become un-sold out, but didn't make a decision on the 5k in time!! Hoping we see more bibs open up again!!

    January 2020 Discounts

I called yesterday, trying to get AP discount for marathon weekend. cM said not released yet, said probably at the end of the month and then said mid-October later. Seems like they don't have info released to CM yet or he was confused (or both???)

What to see at AK on a leisurely stroll without worrying about rides?

Agree with much of the above. Would also add the parrot show at the entrance, they are incredible. We have also enjoyed the paths right around the Tree itself, seeing some of the aquatic exhibits underneath and looking at all of the carvings in the tree itself. And always hit up the characters...

    Arrival Day Help

Also A, that way you can hit up lots of F&W booths through the evening, you wouldn't want to show up full to MNSSHP with your other option!

All Star Movies (standard) VS Art of Animation (Mermaid rooms)

I have done both and do prefer AoA, for the pools (the one right by the LM rooms is nice, as well as the big blue), the overall theming is much more likes the Disney I grew up with, and I found the food court was much better. Also the flexibility to wander over to Pop if you feel like exploring...

What to do on Disney Property besides the parks?

Agree with others. Either shopping at Disney Springs (with great meals) or resort hopping (with great meals). I love Poly, both Kona Cafe for breakfast and for drinks/Dole Whip later on. Monorail is great, I would be sure to stop at Grand F to see the lobby and listen to the musicians/ piano.

First Time Value Resort Trip, Will I regret it?

I think it really depends on your mindset. I like being comfortable, so when we travel with our young kids we stay deluxe, or offsite at a condo with lots of space. I was doing a solo race weekend trip and wanted too stay onsite for transport, but couldn't justify the price of a moderate for...

    Secret menu items ?

You should Google the secret menu at all Star movies, it is fabulous! I got it last time (in between 2 counters at the quick service) and it was a great experience. I got the hot dog (on my own, I do not recommended you tackle it alone!!) but would try the burger next time :)

Cheat, Starve, Demand "the free water."

I have gone in July and September, we found that it was really important to take our midday break. So we had success taking a late lunch at Hollywood and Vine in DHS, not the best food ever, but a fabulous midday break with great character interaction and great air conditioning!! The other...

Rescheduling trip due to toddler tantrums??

I would go for it, but remember that they will be stimulated a lot and don't pretend that it will be better because you are at Disney. I took mine at 18 months and tried character dinners and they were a disaster because he was exhausted. Halfway through, we realised mornings were awesome, so...

What are the best (but not expensive) counter service restaurants in each park?

Also love CHH for MK, mostly because we can always find lovely calm seating upstairs and I enjoy the food. Probably prefer the food at Peco's (love the top your own stations, can easily stretch a meal that way), but is too crazy to be enjoyable most of the time. AK: love the counter service of...

Anyone have good Hollywood and Vine experiences?

We have also had 2 (out of 2) great H&V experiences. Once with Disney Jr crew and once with Mickey's gang. Agree that the character interactions are the best part, food is fine, but we are really going for the characters. I also find DHS brutally hot, so it is a good hour (and then some) of...
