Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

I'd say depends on the kind of picky. If it's that folks are more comfortable with familiar types of food (like, they always want chicken or bread), Sanaa is a good choice. If unfamiliar flavors/spices are the issue, then Jiko. The food there is milder/more balanced to an American palate overall...

    Minnie van new pricing

Not a lot of reasons. Infant carseat, wheelchair user, maybe some large parties?

    Minnie van new pricing

I just priced this out myself last night (planning for our upcoming trip) and got a quote of $33 around dinner time. If you have the Lyft app, you can check prices on there, you just have to scroll through all the vehicle options to get to "Minnie Vans"

Supposed to be finished early December :)

Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Super simple, but we loved sitting on the rocking chair patios overlooking the main Jambo safari--lots of breeze, the music is piped in, and great animal views. Usually pretty quiet.

The Rainbow Lounge - LGBT Chit Chat

Yay! Sending you lots of good wishes for a smooth process and a happy ending. My wife and I are expecting our first this winter. Getting pregnant was a stressful and hopeful and frustrating and surreal process, I'm sure surrogacy is much the same and even more so in some ways. <3

Or (I'm hoping!) for when your magicband won't unlock the door. Happens to me every trip.

Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

I *love* the higher quality Israeli instants. I was so surprised, because I think instant coffee here is the grossest, but it was totally tasty, even iced.

    Parenting an 17/18yo Question

I agree! Of course, your family beliefs/values matter here, but if you generally think it's ok for a young woman to spend the night with her boyfriend's family, I'd say the time to start working on what that looks like and how it's done maturely, safely, respectfully, etc. is now, while she's...

They do serve espresso at the Mara, but it's pretty low-quality. This is the hardest thing about being at WDW for us!

    Partner doesn’t like Disney?

There's a lot of great advice here! My wife fortunately caught the Disney bug from me, but we've definitely had some rough spots over planning/enjoying/compromising about vacations in general. I think one of the things that helped us was figuring out what kinds of things we like to do together...

    News Round Up 2018

Was just thinking of this the other day after watching the trailer for Christopher Robin. Did the "classic" Pooh figures have plushie forms? I mostly remember illustrations/art, but was trying to recall if there were also stuffed animals.

Best TS restaurants for special diets

Agree with all previous PPs that almost any TS should be very accommodating--the process is easy and the chefs are very nice about it. My best experience was at Jiko--I'm allergic to a very common spice that it turned out was in *all* of their recipes, but they did a seared tuna for me with just...

Homecomin’ - Bad day or going downhill?

My impression has been that Homecomin' can be hit or miss. We've been twice--loved the chicken, grits, greens, sweet potatoes, but biscuits were kind of limp and sad--but I've read reviews of the same food we had on other days that look really sub-par. Maybe they have consistency issues.

    Best moisture wicking clothing value

Not everyone is comfortable with this, but I often get ours (also mostly Under Armor) at our local Goodwill. They're basically indestructible, so they hold up fine second-hand, there always seem to be lots available, and we only wear them on vacation, so are happy to pay $2-$5 each and take...

    Veteran w. Anxiety/PTSD

Hi! I have PTSD and am happy to offer some advice, though of course everything depends on his triggers and what makes him feel comfortable :) -If explosions are triggering, I've found the MK glitter cannons during Mickey's Friendship Faire even worse than the fireworks (louder, less expected...

    Swan vs Dolphin Resort?

Given the choice, I'd stay at the Swan! The Queen beds are lovely, it's a little quieter usually, and still very close to the pool, especially given that your Swan room will probably be closer to an elevator/exit than your Dolphin room.

    News Round Up 2018

Hahahaha, this was 100% me on 7DMT, "I thought this was a child's coaster!" Aside from being terrified and sick, I felt so bad for all the 6 and 7 year olds watching me cry. Definitely sticking to dark rides for the rest of my life, lol.
