“Good things come slow – especially in distance running.”

Little update: I started running again this week and have 3 run/walks under the belt this week. On todays run I ran a mile, walked a 1/4 and then ran another mile as the main part of the workout. It felt nice to at least run a whole mile without stopping or walking. Knee is at about 95%. NO pain...

How hot/humid was it during your run and what will temps look like for your goal race? If its very hot during your runs now, but race day it will be 40, then things could work out. I would suggest to continue doing various types of speed work each week. I am also assuming your goal race is a...

QOTD: Hows everyone holding up with your summer runs? ATTQOTD: Started c25k last week and since I havent ran when its been cool in so longer, the heat isnt really a issue. I am also starting my runs between 5:30 and 6:00 AM.

Week one went well and week two is off to a good start! The knee doesn't feel like normal, but it doesn't hurt either. Pleased with how things are moving along thus far. Thanks for the support!

“Good things come slow – especially in distance running.”

After a week at WDW and no knee pain with all the walking I decided to try c25k day one this morning. While it wasnt completely pain free, it was not to bad. So I will try another run later this week and see how it goes. Hopefully this is the real start with no additional set backs.

“Good things come slow – especially in distance running.”

Hey folks its been a interesting last few weeks. My knee issue has not improved enough to run and hasnt really gotten worse or better. Been seeing the doctor monthly trying new things, but so far not much has changed anything. I think the reason for the lack of progress is something else is...

QOTD: What time of day do you prefer to run and does that change any with the seasons? ATTQOTD: Usually during the work week I end up running around 6:15 PM ish and during the weekends around 7 AM. The hotter it gets during the summer those work week runs get later and the morning start earlier...

“Good things come slow – especially in distance running.”

Its been a hot minute since posting. Yesterday I did c25k day one. What I have learned is that I am unable to take a full stride and it was more of a shuffle. At this point I am not sure if its worse to continue or use these easy runs as another method to build strength in the leg... I fully...

Best Disney Hotel for runD weekends?

Late to the party on this one, but my personal choice based on what I would like to do before and after race day would be the Boardwalk. Not the most affordable option but it would be my preferred choice,

Things are starting to improve a little. At least another week more than likely to running but the pain is less currently. On a much more positive note, today is 60 days till our next Disney trip and I was able to get all of the dining reservations we wanted with very little trouble! I'm taking...

ATTQOTD: I have run several times in the rain, once in sneaux, and once in sleet. While I have been caught in some bad rain storms there was not much I could have done other than to run back to my truck or home and I did not have a shorter way back. Its a little sketchy when there's lightning...

“Good things come slow – especially in distance running.”

Week 8 update: I'm borderline depressed about the progress I am making. I am not closer to running today than I was in the last 3 months. Ill give it another week before I start seeking out a second opinions. I at least need this to feel better enough to handle the parks in July. Theres no way I...

QOTD: Not running related question today. Which one do you like more... May the 4th be with you or Cinco de Mayo and why? ATTQOTD: While I fella really likes some Star Wars, chips and queso with a margarita on the rocks is hard to beat!

QOTD: This one could be unpopular... Virtual races, what is your thoughts on them? Do you want to run one or have run? If so why? ATTQOTD: Virtual races are not for me. The exception would be during covid when a race was shut down and/or travel was not really being allowed. I can understand the...

QOTD: What type of surface do you normally run on? Which type of surface do you try to avoid running on? ATTQOTD: Normal running surface for me is asphalt. I avoid limestone/gravel paths as much as I can.

“Good things come slow – especially in distance running.”

Dr said that was enough PT. I will continue with most of the things they had me doing minus the squats on one leg. I probably should have gone to a different PT group, but this place is free with our insurance and in a effort to save some $ I went with that route. If I ever have to do something...

Ended up getting a shot to help with the pain. Dr said the type of PT I was doing was not ideal to be focusing so much weight on the injured knee. For now I just have to wait and hope it's just a minor set back and no many weeks/months to being back on schedule.

FFQOTD: What if runDisney would host a ironman event on property. Would you consider taking part in it? Do you think it would be a sold out event? ATTQOTD: I ironman event is not on my list to do, but I could see a lot of people being interested in it. The swim portion may cause some concern...

Week 7 Update: The ole knee is still in pain :( I am going to see my doctor Friday morning to see what he thinks and wants to do moving forward. I probably wont get any real answers tomorrow but who knows. I just hope it isnt another long drawn out process. My biggest concern at the moment...
