Grand Cayman - are there still shuttles available right there?

We were there last year and found many independent taxi drivers in the area, ready to take you where you need to go. Most taxis are shared, so be prepared for them to load up as many as they can fit.

    Broken Wrist

Mom of four, with a total of nine broken bones over the years. If doc is happy enough with how the wrist is healing to remove the hard cast, your son should be fine to do whatever activities he wants with the brace. (He should be able to remove it to shower too!) My DS is currently in a brace...

    Castaway Cay?

We’ve been to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and while Castaway Cay doesn’t rank as one of the very best, there are some things that make it a really nice place to visit for a day. Convenience (close to the ship, food and drink nearby, no need for cash or credit cards), the...

    Grand Cayman Tender

We were in GC last week. Our stateroom overlooked the side that was tendering and we watching a steady stream of tenders coming, filling up and leaving starting at about 10:20. At 11:00 or so, we went down to deck 3 and walked right onto a tender without a wait. As soon as it was full, the...

    Cozumel Safe?

We were just in Cozumel a couple of weeks ago. While we wouldn’t currently vacation in Mexico due to crime, we felt plenty safe in Cozumel with our two kids. We found our own taxi and used an independent company to charter a 40’ catamaran for the day and everything felt very safe and professional.

    Hiding ducks on the cruise?

I was a duck skeptic, especially after a recent cruise group had seemingly hundreds of ducks they were going to hide. I thought I would be seeing ducks lying all over the place, but I didn’t see a single one. My kids each found one and re-hid them. It really didn’t impact my cruise experience at...

Orlando area hotel for 2 days before Wish cruise

Look into the Gaylord hotel and resort. We stayed at the one in Dallas and it was very fun and had an amazing pool and waterpark (plus mini golf, laser tag, etc.)

    Digital Port Arrival Form?

Thanks all! I definitely fall in the “all digital, no paper” category (why does the airline still print me a paper ticket when I check my bags?!), so it’s good to know I can just use my Apple wallet.

    Digital Port Arrival Form?

Do I really need to print our port arrival forms or is a digital copy good enough? I’d really love one less thing to worry about, if possible. I have already added the QR code to my Apple wallet and I’m assuming that’s what they scan when you arrive? Please tell me I can leave the papers at home…

    On shore….

TripAdvisor, googling “Cozumel private excursion” and doing a TON of research into each company, and also searching this forum for “private excursion in _______.” Then I email the company with a bunch of questions (cancelation policy, refund policy if ship is unable to dock, do they guarantee...

    Hiding ducks on the cruise?

One member of an upcoming cruise group has 65 (!!) ducks she is hiding around the ship. I am all for doing something that you enjoy and makes others happy, but this is just excessive and ridiculous.

Disney cancelled mystic mountain excursion for our March cruise

I don’t think this is correct. The old cruise terminal is close to these places, but Falmouth (where Disney docks) is at least an hour away from Mystic Mountain and Dunn’s River. And FWIW, I would never jump in a random taxi in Jamaica. (Cozumel and Grand Cayman, absolutely. Jamaica, no way.)

    For Faster Check-In…

Can I still say I’m using a birth certificate to get through the process faster, then go back and enter passport info later? I’m fairly sure I’ve done that before, but not sure if it’s still an option. Thanks!

Best time to get a flight on last day of cruise? (Port Canaveral)

Not to mention the fact that you’re in line with people who are seasoned travelers. Pre-check people know how to get through security quickly and efficiently, which also makes the line move faster.

If you love DCL and have found an all-inclusive that meets expectations

Another vote for Beaches Turks & Caicos. Only family vacation that might have beaten DCL!

    Brightline Train opening soon

As someone who lives in the northeast, we have found that taking Amtrak to NYC or DC is always more expensive, but usually much more convenient than driving and always faster than flying once you factor in the drive to the airport, parking, check-in, flight, baggage claim, etc. Unfortunately...

    Disney To Cruise To MCO

Plus, if you rent a car, then you’ve got a car to store luggage in if you’ve got a later flight on disembarkation day. We usually go grab lunch at Disney Springs and maybe see a movie, all while our luggage is locked in our rental car.

Verizon TravelPass - Cayman and Castaway

I keep my phone on airplane mode on the ship, but periodically turn it off to see if I can get data from the nearest island. I give it a minute or two, then put it back into airplane mode if my phone doesn’t pick up the data. Then try again later.

Verizon TravelPass - Cayman and Castaway

Verizon travel pass has worked for me on the ship when docked at these places. It has even worked on the ship while we are at sea, while I could barely see Grand Bahama waaaay off in the distance.

    Grand Cayman Tender

I don’t think is was more than 30 minutes after they started running the tenders that we were off the ship (and we weren’t on a DCL excursion). I believe we reported to the WD Theater right at 10:30 and really didn’t wait very long. There are several tenders going at any one time, and as soon as...
