OP here: Thank you for the many great suggestions! I neglected to mention that we've done the NE area. DH and I grew up in NJ and have family in Boston, RI and Connecticut, so we've seen lots of the area.

Just being with my 23 first cousins! All of us together for two weeks at the end of August. Went there every year for 16 years. Best memories! Nothing fancy. Stayed in bungalows, swam, tennis, square dancing, bingo. Just the greatest.

He takes 3 mg about an hour before bed. We've read that taking more can disrupt you natural sleep rhythms.
