Make a Wish (and other organizations) - Wish Trippers UNITE! Volume SIX!

It’s hard to say. That probably depends on your local chapter. Marriott is a Dream Factory partner, so the Swam/Dolphin might be an option. My daughter was approved to stay at GKTW even though her condition is autoimmune. It might depend on various factors. Will you still be eligible to access...

Redo Voodoo - Instead of June 2020, planning for June 2021

It looks they’re increasing park capacity for June. I was able to change our park reservations to have a second MK day. The good thing is we got Park Hoppers, so we can move around.,

Basket/Care Package Delivery to Friends.... Can we pre-pay?

MouseMarketplace.com would be my recommendation. It’s owned by two furloughed CMs and has amazing customer service. They do personalized baskets. Details are on their website. I believe they will deliver directly to the recipient.

Is a trekking pole allowed as a mobility aid?

The Disability Office responded and said the trekking pole is allowed for mobility. I did read two older threads asking, but they didn’t have official responses from WDW. Maybe this will help others.

Is a trekking pole allowed as a mobility aid?

I appreciate the responses. I did send an email to WDW Disability office to be safe. I am sure it’s fine, but would rather be safe than sorry. I will update with their response.

    Sun sensitivity

I have a Totes umbrella with 50 UPF. I recommend getting one. I bought it when I was taking methotrexate which makes you photosensitive. I already burn in the moonlight, so took added precautions when traveling in Florida. Columbia has UV protective clothing. I also use Blue Lizard sunscreen on...

Is a trekking pole allowed as a mobility aid?

I have RA and use a trekking pole as a mobility aid when walking a lot. I will most likely rent an EVC for our upcoming trip, but will stand in lines in order to stretch and move throughout the day. I don‘t think it will be a problem, but want to be prepared with a Plan B, if needed. Here is a...

Has anyone used a stand up walker at the parks using Disney transportation?

I understand. I am not yet 50, but I’ve had juvenile RA Since I was 5. I am reserving a scooter for our trip to celebrate my 50th In June. I want to not be in pain at the end of the day. On our last trip, I sat out a day while my husband took the kids to the parks because I just couldn’t walk 15...

FAA Changes Service Dog and ESA Flight Rules

I guess I missed where developmental disabilities are excluded. A SA is still a SA, and the caregiver for someone with DD is typically the handler for a SA.

FAA Changes Service Dog and ESA Flight Rules

The ADA contains language that a SA must be under control of the handler. In cases where a SA is not under control, if it is barking, acts aggressive, has toileting accidents, etc., you may request the SA be removed. That doesn’t work once a plane Is away from the gate, but can apply in the airport.

I feel like a fraud using accomodations

The vast majority of people using a wheelchair are not full-time wheelchair users. They use them intermittently, for special trips (like Disney), during flares, etc.. They won’t judge you. Ignorant people who don’t understand that wheelchairs are tools and that most people are not dependent upon...

    RA suggestions please

I have juvenile RA. I always travel with a prednisone pack. As much as I hate taking it, it can make the difference between a ruined vacation and feeling good enough to enjoy it.

Keenz wagon or similar wagon as wheelchair

I can understand the wagon ban because many people were using them in place of strollers and it congested walking areas. Using a wagon for child with specific special needs is a reasonable accommodation and not a convenience. Since they are being allowed when necessary, it seems WDW is doing the...

Keenz wagon or similar wagon as wheelchair

If the wagon is used as a mobility aid, use of it is protected by the ADA. That’s at least what Federal Highway teaches in their ADA trainings.
