    Private Transport vs Uber

Uber says XL fits up to 6 passengers or extra luggage. The "or" is the important thing there. If the third row of seats has to be folded down for the luggage and stroller, where will the other adult sit? In the crappy uber xl we were in, one adult rode in the back with the luggage. I don't...

    Private Transport vs Uber

In San Francisco a few months ago, we were 5 adults leaving a conference. Booked an Uber XL. The SUV that arrived was not as big as it probably should have been. (Also it was in terrible shape - think duct tape.) Combined, we had 2 large suitcases and 3 small, plus backpacks. The humans and the...

    MCO Hotel?

Yes, you can take ME the next day (assuming this is in 2021). We did that in 2018. Some people report having to give a fake flight number but the agent I spoke to didn't really care what time we were planning to head to ME.

    Disney Genie announcement

I'm so disappointed. I liked the planning. It meant we could sleep in on vacation and still ride the headliners. I split up the FPs for our family of 4 - my son doesn't ride roller coasters. So DH & DS rode Peter pan while DD and I rode thunder mountain. I'm not convinced scheduling those two...

    Boardwalk Villas Question

You definitely don't need quarters. All the laundry rooms where you have to pay, you pay by credit card.

Can y’all estimate the time it takes

I think it depends on what you're trying to do next, sort of. Just wondering when you'll get to your resort so you can relax and hit the pool? 90 minutes is a fine estimate - we made it that fast once. I'd leave at least three hours if your trying to plan a fast pass in a park. Even if you miss...

    Difficult and confusing ADR

You can book it when your window opens. It doesn't matter who all 8 people are. You'll need ages so that you pay the right child/adult rates, but who they are doesn't matter, and it really doesn't matter when they are arriving or if they are staying at a Disney resort.

Getting from HS to Poly for late ADRs

Just take the bus from HS to Poly. Two modes of transportation will not be faster than one.

    Managing different styles

My husband would like to sleep in more on vacation. I'm up by 7 vacation or not... So are the kids, for the most part. Rather than hit the parks without him (though we do sometimes), I take the kids to the pool after breakfast. We even did this in December one year and we weren't the only ones...

    POR-on- line check in question

Call. When we went in August, online check-in options were floor preference, corner room. Very generic.

Missing 180 booking window? How bad is it?

We booked our August 10-18, 2019, trip less than 60 days out. We had no trouble getting Sci Fi lunch and Mama Melrose dinner (which I ended up changing to lunch). We also booked a lot of reservations day of on that trip too.

    Florida water

We actually bring a full pitcher and filter and keep it in the fridge. We have a Pur, but same concept as a Brita. You do need to keep the filter in the package and soak it once you arrive. But it works and we have chilled water to drink out of a glass when we're in the room, too. The pitcher is...

    Boardwalk Arrival Dinner

We did big river grill for a late lunch on our arrival day. It was nice because we didn't need a reservation. You never know what delays you may encounter on arrival day. Or, you may discover you are very hungry earlier than usual, so it's nice not to have to wait.

    MDE and daughter turning 13

It would be odd if they were removed automatically. My husband has never had an account of his own. I do make all of our plans, but once we're there, my husband logs in using my email & password and then he can access fast passes and dining reservations too. We've never had an issue accessing...

    Mobile ordering help

Mobile ordering will charge your card directly. It has absolutely nothing to do with your room. The resort can't undo it and charge a gift card.

    Akershus dinner

May daughter is 11 and they did this for her. Definitely some expensive mac & cheese, but it was no problem at all.

Memory maker - yes or no?

Just a different opinion than the others here. Memory Maker isn't required to buy the photos. I usually find that the ride photos aren't that great. One of us is looking somewhere else or has an odd - but not funny - look on our face. Or we're with other people. We don't seek out the...

Anyone know what the Disney Visa discount is for Riveria?

I googled it and it is "up to 40%", but no room types have any availability from March 1-8. It was very easy to check and I didn't need any credit card info to check the dates.

Anyone rent a crib since new WDW rules about bell services?

One reason to rent is that they aren't guaranteed. We requested a crib at Wilderness Lodge and got a pack n play. It was fine for our 11 month old, thankfully, but I had requested a crib. (This was 2011, so maybe better since then.)

Looking for a little more info on the "2 year olds can eat off your plates" scenario

Buffets are great. You can get them their own plate and they eat all they want at no charge. Family style is similar too, they will have a plate in front of them so they aren't literally reaching into someone else's plate. When my kids were 2, I ordered and paid for their own meals at...
