questions on the PAn Pacific in vancouver

Definitely recommend the Pan Pacific. We didn't take advantage of the luggage transfer; we were also nervous about that. In all honesty though, there is really no need. You literally take the elevator down, roll it down the sidewalk in the parking garage, and drop it at the same place as...

    Muster - Handicap

We've been on three cruises with DCL with my mother who has to use an ECV/scooter. The first was an Oct 2015 Western Caribbean on the Fantasy, then a July 2016 Alaskan on the Wonder, and most recently in April 2017 to the Southern Caribbean on the Magic. Each time we went to our assigned muster...

Stars Wars room package. Will the glow in the dark bother you at night?

Does anyone know if it is the same pillow/blanket regardless of getting the glow-in-the-dark option or not? They almost look different on the DCL website photo, but I was thinking it is probably just reversible?

    Port tendering with mobility issues?

This was our experience in Grand Cayman. We were traveling with my mother who was in an ECV. She disembarked the cruise ship via the ramp to the 2nd level of the tender boat; drove the ECV right onto the tender. Then at the dock, she drove the ECV right off via that ramp to ground level. Never...

NEWS 5/17: Late 2019 itineraries released - link in post #1 (2020 watch thread will start soon)

I think there are 1-2 out of Port Canaveral on the Fantasy, but they are 10-11 day cruises. I believe the 11 day stops in San Juan.

    Boarding time in San juan

Our PAT time was 11:00AM. We asked while waiting what time boarding normally starts and were told "usually 1:00PM, but it can be sooner if the ship is ready". We figured it wouldn't take that long. They started boarding just after 12:00PM. We were boarding group 3 and were onboard by 12:15PM.

    Dress Code- The Big Debate

Dress code threads are always an entertaining read. :rolleyes2 To the OP: Tell your DH to wear whatever he feels comfortable in. Shorts & a polo or tshirt meet DCL's requirements for the MDRs and that is all that matters. Tell him to wear that and have a good time! Last July, I wore a tshirt...

NEWS 5/17: Late 2019 itineraries released - link in post #1 (2020 watch thread will start soon)

Thanks for all your work on this! I see the OP notes Panama Canal cruises are not included in those release dates; are they usually released in the following group/season or are they released entirely on their own? We are thinking about do a PC cruise late 2018 or early 2019.

    Veranda Dividers

Actually, yes, we were on deck 10. It's good to know not all decks are affected that way. Sounds like we should have booked on deck 9 so all three verandas could have connected!

    6 pack bottled water

You can carry-on as much water & soda as you'd like. Alcohol is a separate issue: Per DCL website: Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older may bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning...

    Veranda Dividers

When we were on the Fantasy, we had three adjoining rooms. Two of the rooms were connecting (interior door between). The veranda divider on the non-connecting room opened, but there was a solid wall between the verandas of the connecting rooms. However, the solid wall had a small door in it that...

    Royal Suite????

We had Glen on our Alaska cruise in early July this year (2016) and he was GREAT! We never once met or were contacted by another concierge host, although I did see a different one when debarking in one of the ports. That didn't surprise me though, as during conversation with Glen, he mentioned...

    Prices! Am I priced out!

Agreed; double dips at Castaway Cay aren't the norm and always carry a premium. Are you set on the double dip? If not, maybe look at a different date for the 5 day that only stops there once. Also, I love to cruise with a veranda as well, but it may be worth looking at an oceanview (porthole)...

    Rollaway possible?

I'm fairly sure none of the HA Concierge 1-Bedroom's on the Magic class ships have the Murphy bed. To the OP: I'm agree with you that the kids should just tough it out and share a bed if they have to! Haha. The extra space in the room and larger veranda should make it worth it.

2018 Watch: All 2018 Itineraries are announced as of May 11th, 2017!

I'd say most references to time with Disney posting things are Eastern time in the US, as most of their operations are in Florida, right? (Of course, this wouldn't necessarily be the case when referring to port departure times from ports other than Port Canaveral).

    Royal Caribbean v. Disney

With my wife being a Disney fanatic and us having a soon to be 3 y/o, we've done two with DCL, have two more booked, and plan to book a fifth once 2018 itineraries are released. With that said, I sailed with my parents on Royal Caribbean about 10 years ago (so it's been a while), but was around...

    10/9 Fantasy...

Good point. So if you want to cancel, I guess you'll have to call Saturday to do it?

    10/9 Fantasy...

Per DCL website: Disney Fantasy– UPDATED! The October 8 sailing of the Disney Fantasy is being altered to a 6-night western Caribbean cruise departing on Sunday, October 9, from Port Canaveral. Guests who remain on the revised itinerary will receive a pro-rated refund equal to the amount of...

I'm serious- Can I book the rerouted Magic cruise leaving tomorrow??

In a way, I'm not. It's usually full price to upgrade prior to check-in at the port. Then you can upgrade at port cheaper. While upgrading at port is never guaranteed, I'd say there will be better odds on this cruise.
