I definitely agree that TT is the first priority. Hope that it isn't raining and that they didn't run into technical difficulties in opening the ride, which unfortunately happens sometimes. Lines at Soarin, except on very busy days, are not what they used to be.

As opposed to the sequels for Avatar, which are already four years behind the original schedule (and apparently they still haven't started filming yet...)

We went in late August, Sunday at MK worked out fine for us. Didn't go to Epcot until Wednesday, though, so can't comment on that aspect of it.

In terms of the spiral staircase for Soarin', I noticed that they didn't have any outdoor shots at Epcot at all. The only definitive shots at Epcot were in the Test Track loading area and on Soarin' itself. Probably to streamline the production, I assume. So is that somewhere else in WDW (MK...

Yeah, that wouldn't be such a big deal except, as you note, that Disney basically forces you to be a long-term planner if you want to go to particular restaurants or on specific rides without an interminable wait. Definitely a serious disconnect there.

Trouble with MDE luggage seems to be a theme: We had a 5:05 arrival at MCO, the plane actually reached the terminal at 4:45. Yet by 8:30 still no bags in the room. Then finally a knock on the door, and the bellman handed over one suitcase (out of 4 we had checked). I called Luggage...

I'd have to agree, at least for me, Soarin' would not be high on the list of rides to be worried about in terms of motion sickness.

We were at WDW last week and both of my kids had their fingers scanned on first entry. Had no idea this was something new and was surprised to see all the news coverage the past couple of days. Anyway, when we came back the next day, neither kid's finger was able to get the scanner to work...

Definitely worked well for us this past week, got on the new track once out of 3 times riding it. Once waited 40 minutes (posted wait was 60), the other time just about 10, and third was fastpass.

Just got back myself, had been feeling kind of the same as you after reading the comments on the forums. Was it perfect? No, especially the weather, but I really think you will have a great time.
