    ***Official April 2024 Thread***

Gary, sounds like a fun time, we arrive in 8 days. Do I see you mention Dole whips with rum somewhere at the Boardwalk?

    DAS changes coming WDW

I'm interested to know about this too. My son has celiac, and diarrhea/accidents are one symptom he gets if accidentally exposed to gluten. It'd be nice if he has a bad day/hours we could leave and return without applying in advance. Honestly if anyone is having a bad day due to something...

    Beyond Big Thunder

I hope whatever they make is new and not related to a single movie/franchise as I feel that fits in better with MK. Now if you asked me and my tween daughter, we'd both 100% vote for a Villains land. I'm also really hoping for a minimum 3 rides, the 2 ride lands always feel like too few of...

How bad will crowds be the week of 4/6?

I've had okay luck guessing crowds based on MK posted hours. Weeks with Sun-Thur 8am-11pm hours seem to have overall higher crowds than weeks with 9am-10pm MK hours.

How bad will crowds be the week of 4/6?

We generally take our kids out 1 week a year for vacations, however my parents did that with us also growing up so it's not necessarily new for me. I'm not really doing it for lower crowds/people but mainly for the substantial cost savings of traveling when kids are in school vs not. We've...

Park Hopping suspended today (4/4/24) at Magic Kingdom -???

Wdwpassport who tracks live crowds has MK at 10 crowds right now, with some crazy wait times, so it's possibly real.

    Backup plan for BWV

Is cash Boardwalk Inn not an option for you? It has 3 sleeping surfaces and with discounts this year was basically the same price for us as renting points. With all fees our Boardwalk Inn stay coming up in 2 weeks is about $515 a night if that helps at all when comparing prices. With Beach...

    ***Official April 2024 Thread***

Just not so patiently waiting for updated park hours, we leave in 2 weeks and still no updated hours for most of our trip. I believe they'll show up tomorrow but that seems so late. A 7:30 EEH vs 8:30 EEH is important to know for my not early morning tween and if we will make it for EEH or not.

    Parks for 9 YO boy

If he likes animals: Sea World Harry Potter: Universal Legos: Legoland Star Wars: DHS Knowing if he likes thrill rides, more tame rides, shows would help with the recommendations also. My son is almost 9 and is a Legoland and Disney park kid, he has no interest in Sea World or Florida...

How critical is it to stay on property in order to get Genie+ LL and ILL?

I am "you" when planning, I want to stay on site or I don't really want to go. It's okay to say I want to stay on site go from there, having the transportation and early entry are enough for me to be happy staying on site.

How critical is it to stay on property in order to get Genie+ LL and ILL?

Here's some data on when ILL's sell out, you can look in the past too but you should be fine for those except on really busy days https://www.thrill-data.com/lightning-lane/wdw

New Disney Ships: News, Rumors, Speculation.....and Names!

I was hoping when I heard Villains we'd get the "queen" Villains especially Maleficent. Sounds like it will at least have Cruella de Vil. Hoping they made a Villians bar or a dark/villains room theme. Lion King is not at all what I think of when I hear Heroes and Villians.

Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

My understanding is almost all of them have it, with just a few without. At least that is what I am hoping for as we need one but only have 4 people booked.

Best time to take young kids out of school?

I find end of April/early May to be good, we're pulling our kids end of April this year so we'll see how that goes this year. We also did November a few years ago in-between all the holidays and had low crowds but it was barely warm enough to swim for us.

Our worst day at WDW in 16 years...

This week is the most popular spring break week that isn't around Easter. Our district always does this week and it annoys me because everywhere is so busy and expensive, we live in CO and won't touch the mountains. The very first week of March is usually not nearly as bad.

    ***Official April 2024 Thread***

Anyone been during April and know the typical pool hours for the feature pools and quite pools or does it vary by resort? Or is there somewhere online we can go to see that information before we arrive, staying at Boardwalk if that matters.

    Gluten-free at Biergarten

I don't know if they always do it but yes they will generally bring food from the back. It's Disney run so usually a lot better than non-Disney places at Epcot for helping with allergies.

    Via Napole Glutten Free Options

They don't have an official GF menu, they do have GF pasta but no pizza. I've also heard if it's a celiac GF reason to avoid it as they aren't the best with cross contamination.

How do you know if a restaurant is "Disney owned"?

This isn’t 100% reliable and only applies to sit down restaurants, but if the Disney app has an allergy menu section then it’s usually Disney run.

Silly question, son still struggles with bedwetting?

I'm recommend an absorbent pad also, my son slept extremely hard on the cruise we went on and he did wet through his Goodnites one night, not super bad but bad enough to need new sheets. Sizing up can help a bit I think.
