Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part V!

Good luck! I really don't understand the legal stuff. I know there are issues with some Marvel things because of the Sony/Universal deal, but it makes no sense to me that you can't get some other characters.

I haven't tried the churro mousse. We had a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling a while back (and chocolate buttercream to boot) and it was fantastic. Super tasty and not overwhelming.

Possibly. I haven't heard a lot about HS bakery and a minimum. Some are fine with 6", some insist on 8". It doesn't hurt to ask.

It wasn't lately (2010), but I ordered a cake to Turf Club at SSR, which was done by Boardwalk Bakery. I didn't ask for anything in particular in terms of theming (it was a birthday cake for my mom and another family member), but it was possibly the best cake I've ever had. It was chocolate...

Wow! I'll be honest, $320 sounds a bit high for an 8" to me, but I'll defer to the experts who have had similar ones made. I think the ones I've seen in that range have been larger or extremely elaborate, though.

Was Jedi Mickey painted? The plain figures are around $35 IIRC, but painting adds quite a bit.

I'm not sure if they do whipped cream frosting. Has he tried ganache? The new Mickey dome cakes have that.

I see your trip is this month, so I'm not sure if this is too late, but I was able to get a Loki-inspired cake through GF last June. Pat told me they didn't have any Avengers screen prints. I posted a pic on page 31 of this thread. I brought the figure and our server put it on in the back.

I ordered a cake from GF and it was added to our meal bill at the restaurant.

The smallest would probably be a 2-tier mini cake, but those are often more expensive than a regular 6" from what I understand.

You may have gotten an answer from them already, but I had a Loki cake done in June through GF. Pat told me they didn't have any screen prints for Avengers, but I asked them to do Loki colors and I brought a figure to go on top. It was a surprise for my husband, so I snuck it to our server...

I ordered one there in June. I searched back for my post after talking to Pat because I had asked about amaretto. Here's what I wrote then: "Pat called me back a little while ago. In my message, I had said that I was hoping to get angel food cake (I knew that was a long shot) and Loki from...

Yes, they have certain images for screen printing and that's it. I got a cake through Pat in June and they didn't have any screen print options for my theme.

I had someone answer, but they had to take a message for the main person to call me back later.

Not a show, but I did at a buffet. I had the same thought about "free" dessert but in the end the logistics worked out best to have it there (it was hubby's actual birthday, at the resort we were staying at and going back to our room after dinner, and early in our stay so we had a chance to eat...

If it's the white chocolate figures I'm thinking of, they can be painted but I think it's pretty pricey. We had a 6 inch cake for 5 people and had a decent amount left over, so I think you'll be fine!

That's my understanding, too. I had no problem getting a custom 6" from GF bakery in June.
