My experience with the deluxe dining plan

I meant to mention that at a couple of meals we only ordered 2 allotments because we were too stuffed! for example, spice road it was only me and my husband. so we got "more" meals out of it. We used every meal credit, but it was a real chore to do it. Coral Reef is only 1 TS credit.

My experience with the deluxe dining plan

you are right, you would still have to tip if you were paying cash - but I found we would never buy that volume of food if we were paying cash - we might split an appetizer between the whole table, share 2 entrees, and get maybe 2 desserts to share, and likely only my husband would have gotten...

My experience with the deluxe dining plan

Yes, we talked about how it might make sense in the future when our daughter is old enough to bring a friend and have a separate room - then we might get it just for the one room and split it amongst everyone. it is WAY too much food - what I found out is that just one of those meals would tide...

My experience with the deluxe dining plan

I thought I would share my experience last week using the deluxe dining plan. we were doing a split stay at pop century 2 nights/yacht club 3 nights so I thought it would be a good way to test out the deluxe dining plan during our pop century stay. I paid $690 for 3 adult plans (DH, me, DD11)...

Friends & Family discount & dining

when I've used my aunt's f&f discount they have offered me the option to add dining on - but at full price. Unless the cast member is also staying in the hotel room and signed up for the dining plan, there is no discount on that.

Email for Disney CC holders - "free" dining

ha, right? I looked at Coronado Springs and the cheapest qualifying room was a king suite. $4600. I could do a deluxe dining plan with a discounted water front room and park hoppers for under 3000.00. Or better yet, not do the dining plan at all. I've never been able to make the dining plan make...

Never stepped foot onto Universal Property....need insight

ick! I have to say that the lobby of the Portofino is one of the best smelling hotel lobbies I have ever been in. I think Animal Kingdom Lodge is the only one I would rank better. Royal Pacific didn't have much of a scent to me at all.

Never stepped foot onto Universal Property....need insight

Yes so take my opinion on that with a grain of salt. I'm a rube who has never seen the original.

Never stepped foot onto Universal Property....need insight

ok, that's hilarious! I kept looking at it like "why is it all painted on???" :) I still didn't love that though. I kept staring at it, trying to imagine it with real materials. distracting! But I guess they are keeping it real.

Never stepped foot onto Universal Property....need insight

We just got back from our first stay at Universal. We stayed at both RPR and Portofino, and my general feedback is that they are not as nice as the 2 Disney deluxe properties I have stayed at. (Animal Kingdom and Beach Club). HOWEVER, we paid Disney moderate prices for hotels that were much...

    Toiletries at RPR

I was just there - I brought my own shampoo and conditioner as I nearly always hate what is provided in hotels. Well, guess what...I loved the shampoo and conditioner at RPR! So much so that a few little bottles *may* have come home with me.

AP upgrade experience starting with UT 2+2 expiring tickets

no. I really can't explain why the "4 day" 2+2 ticket is being handled differently.

AP upgrade experience starting with UT 2+2 expiring tickets

No problem - I paid $250 for adult tickets and $240 for child. We received $20 back on each adult ticket and $10 on the child ticket, so they cost us $230/each for the seasonal AP.

How many days at Universal? 3 or 4?

We just spent 5 days (separated with a cruise in the middle). We are not power-parkers. We like to spend time in the morning, then swim in the afternoon, and go back in the evening. We found 5 days to be a good amount of time just for the 2 parks, though we could have spent more time! We stayed...

AP upgrade experience starting with UT 2+2 expiring tickets

I traded in our UT tickets for AP's on Tuesday, March 21st. Ours were 2+2 purchased on BF from UT (expires 5/31)- however, they only stated 4 day P2P, not 2+2 on the tickets themselves. I'm not sure why some say 2+2 and others are simply 4 day tickets (they were print at home tickets). We...

Anyone used Chase Sapphire rewards for hotel or park tickets?

Hi Eddie - I just got back from a trip to Universal and booked our hotel with Chase Sapphire Reserve points, which gave us 1.5% on each point. I didn't know there was an option to book tickets - but I bought those from undercover tourist on a black friday sale. I started booking the hotel back...
