Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

This is how we felt at AKL...we "upgraded" to pool view and there was shrieking at all hours and the movies were SO loud at night. I wouldn't pick that again. Speaking of which, are the standard rooms at WL bad or okay? My husband prefers the Deluxes to moderate for less spread out and...

Guardians to replace UoE and Ratatouille coming to Epcot

Yeah, but there are families like mine where both the adults get motion sick easily (although I'm way worse) and our kid is so far, not a thrill ride fan. I personally love Disney because there's so much stuff I can do without getting sick. Most theme parks like Six Flags type are an absolute...

    Hurricane Irma?

Yeah, speaking as someone who works in the animal health field, there is absolutely no evidence this occurs.

End of autographs at character dining?

Huh...I just want pictures...I couldn't care less about autographs. So, for us, the pre-signed ones might be a bonus since we don't do the autograph book thing.

    Help finding a banshee!!

I had no problems getting the Banshee, box and all into my smaller than average carry on. They didn't hive me any grief about it, thankfully!

Guardians to replace UoE and Ratatouille coming to Epcot

Or Dr. Who!! Pretty sure Disney doesn't have that IP though. ;)

Guardians to replace UoE and Ratatouille coming to Epcot

I'm stoked about Guardians as long it's not too wild of a coaster...my motion sick self doesn't do well with upside down or massive drops. But I never went on Ellen's Energy (I'll hide). I usually spend most of my Epcot time in World Showcase, though.

    Official 2017 D23 Expo Thread

Maybe, but there are plenty of families like mine with a younger kid (s) that are never going to stay out that late with an overstimulated, overtired, kid. We were done by 5 sll park days but one because we wanted to try make it for the fireworks. Maybe they feel the demographic of adults that...

    Official 2017 D23 Expo Thread

My son was incredibly bored at Epcot when he was 4. On our most recent trip at 6, he finally got into the Duffy Bear signing, but he did keep asking if there were more rides. (As a result, we went on that little Mexico boat ride at least 3 times.) Maybe it's a boy vs. girl thing, but he...

    Official 2017 D23 Expo Thread

Really? I wouldn't boo my boss because that would be really unprofessional. And lack of raises is also really common in my profession, so it wouldn't be boo worthy. :) I don't know...to me "booing" a speaker for any reason kind of lacks class.

Every time I book an ADR someone posts a negative thread!

True. But I guess I don't need signature stuff on a breakfast buffet (although the Boma bread pudding WAS amazing)...just classics done right, which I got. But it is fun to have something to differentiate.

I was pleasantly surprised by H&V breakfast, actually. I was expecting nothing good and really enjoyed several dishes...and all the amazing fresh fruit for my kid who normally eats so much of it and we were feeling so deprived most everywhere else.

See, and Saana and Jiko were some of the best, most interesting food I've ever had at Disney...such great discoveries for us. My non-Disney loving husband said I scored points with him by booking those two places. :) Just goes to prove everyone's tastes are different!

Every time I book an ADR someone posts a negative thread!

I've had some "meh" meals, but nothing terrible. And honestly, I might even have called them decent meals had they not been at a Disney price point. ;)

What is the mix of Disney / non-Disney Guests?

I would never, ever do it alone. We used it once at Disney, but it was 7:30 AM and I was with my law enforcement husband who clearly knows defense. :)

Jedi Training - Tell me what's up

I read here to go for the line to the right when the kids are lining up to get Darth Vader, so we did that. (When they line up to get their robes, there are little circles they sit on in two lines...it was the line away from the wall.) I don't know if that's consustent, but it worked for us...

Slightly disappointed in flight of passage

True. I went into the River Journey not expecting much because so many people bashed it, and I really, really liked it. I think if you don't expect the moon, it's easier to be impressed. :)

    Amazed and Disappointed

Maybe I'm just old, but I'm ready for bed by 11...haven't stayed out past that in years. I couldn't fathom wanting to ride roller coasters at midnight, but each to their own, I guess!

    Amazed and Disappointed

Yeah, my husband has done shift work for fifteen years. It's awful, it's hard on our family, and nobody else gets it. The money really doesn't make up for it. That's why I tend to side with the workers!

    Amazed and Disappointed

Wow...they really used to stay open that late? The poor staff! I'm actually with Disney and Disney's neighbors on this one. A theme park doesn't need to be open as late as a bar....
