    DAS changes coming WDW

But the new system does nothing to change any of those problems. The system is still attractive to cheaters and requires no proof. And the LL are very unlikely to get meaningfully shorter, if at all. So congrats Disney?

But how can DAS be providing "too much" if Disney is still offering it as "reasonable." It can't be both "too much" and "reasonable" at the same time.

    DAS changes coming WDW

Correct. This is either all theater, or its the first step in a series of much deeper cuts. We won't know which one it is for a couple months though.

    DAS changes coming WDW

Universal didn't give us any issues, using the same description we had used previously. So maybe those denied didn't provide enough information. And providing accommodations that don't work, is the same as not providing them at all, which has been explained plenty, many posters just don't care.

    DAS changes coming WDW

Yes, that is how those families who will no longer qualify for DAS also feel.

    DAS changes coming WDW

I wonder if those people had Universal accommodations prior to the card? For the few people I have spoken to, Universal has not changed who qualifies for accommodations, only that the card was required first. We had no issues qualifying, even with a disability that theoretically Disney no longer...

    If only that were true.

Immediate access to the front of the line. No waiting at all, in or out of the queue.

Oh I stand corrected. I thought you were wholeheartedly in favor of the change.

    DAS changes coming WDW

Really? Because you seem very invested in IBS/Crohn's losing the benefit and very invested in Autism/DD keeping the benefit, from your posts.

    DAS changes coming WDW

Perhaps. We'll know a lot more in a couple months who is actually receiving DAS vs. being told to use Rider Swap/Return to Line and how it all actually works. If the problem is truly a 3x increase in DAS users, they aren't going to make much headway with only the small changes they are proposing...

    DAS changes coming WDW

Its more of a thought experiment. What is Disney's end goal here? Because the initial announcement made no sense and still doesn't. What they were proposing was not going to meaningfully improve the LL experience for others or eliminate fraud. So either they weren't genuine about those being...

    DAS changes coming WDW

Not to mention the less attractive they make it, the less incentive there is to cheat.

    DAS changes coming WDW

I understand that's true right now. I'm more talking about where this all is heading. I don't think this is the end, at all.

    DAS changes coming WDW

I don't think there is any rule or legal precedent that states that in addition to being able to wait outside the queue, they have to allow ALL of your party to wait with you. There was already a limit. And there is no reason Disney can't lower the limit even further.

    DAS changes coming WDW

But as we are repeatedly reminded on here, the question is specifically why someone can't wait in a traditional queue.
  17. G

    DAS changes coming WDW

Exactly my point about the developmentally disabled. There wouldn't be any grounds to sue as long as the disabled person and a necessary caregiver can wait outside the line. And this would certainly reduce the desire for others to fake it.
  18. G

    DAS changes coming WDW

The disabled person is still waiting outside the queue with a member of their party. And if the party is just 2 people, its still DAS. But if others are along too, there is no reason at all why the can't wait in the queue.

    DAS changes coming WDW

As a previous poster stated, I think we all (myself included) underestimated the social media effect for the scammers. This is why we can't have nice things.

    DAS changes coming WDW

But then the question becomes why isn't this also the accommodation for developmental disabilities, as long as the party has at least 3 total guests?
