RotR Planning & Daily Boarding Group Discussion - *CLOSED*

My report from yesterday, Friday the 13th. I took a vacation day since I knew this weekend would be busy (last weekend before Gold blackout). Got to the parking gate by 5:20. Parked, through security (no bag) and in line by 5:40. I got BG 18. Walked on SDD and then my group was called at 7:17...

    Bar/lounge seating with food available?

Nope. No “bars” in MK. Hop on the resort monorail from MK for a great selection of bars.

    Passing time while in line

I do solo day trips all the time and one other strategy that I haven’t seen mentioned is eating at the bar. At Tune-In Lounge and Yak & Yeti you can order from the full restaurant menus. Other bars like Nomad Lounge or any of the resort lounges have more limited menus but still have great food...

    AP day trips

I live about 90 minutes away and go almost every weekend for a couple of hours of “Disney therapy.” Sometimes with my adult son who also has an AP, sometimes solo. I love my half-day solo trips. And so much can be done last minute/same-day. For example - Yesterday was Saturday and the weather...

    Worst Things About Animal Kingdom?

I agree with all of the previous posters re: exposure to the elements. Hot days feel hotter, cold days are colder and rainy days are wetter. Plus, for visitors who are relying on Disney transportation, you’re on the bus.

top pick for f&g fest food

Both of the fried green tomato dishes - at the Arbor (the Odyssey building) with crab and fennel salad AND in Italy with mozzarella and balsamic glaze. Add in that Italian margarita which might be my new favorite festival beverage.

Are you a Righty or Lefty?

All of the festival passports list the food kiosks starting with the Mexico side and going clockwise. So, as far as Epcot is concerned, it seems that left is the “right” way. :-)

Is Dorma Nesmond back at Studios?

I just saw her last week. She is there, in all her pancake makeup glory!

    MDE Refreshing

I’m a passholder and arranged myself a fun solo Saturday outing to HS yesterday using this strategy. I had wanted to go after dark to see the holiday projections but on Friday evening, while watching some TV with DH, I got a 9:45 FP for SDD. A morning trip, it is then! I use Google Chrome to...

2018 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 30 to November 12, 2018

Dang it! It was definitely not dead on Saturday when I was there. I have never seen it that crowded!

2018 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 30 to November 12, 2018

Spent the day at Epcot yesterday. DS34 and I are passholders and we brought a dear friend, who was a DW virgin. The three of us attended the Parisian Afternnon event at Monsieur Paul’s and I would definitely recommend it. We arrived early and we were escorted to our table and seated before...

EPCOT 2019 International Festival Of The Arts Discussion

Exactly! I loved the paint-by-number murals, the artists, the beautiful food and, most especially, the super cool Photo Pass opportunities to fit yourself into classic works of art. I've been both years and it's my favorite festival. So glad it's coming back.

    Christmas at DHS

I actually have a Times Guide from November of last year and it's got "Sunset Seasons Greetings" running from "Nightfall - Park Close".

    Christmas at DHS

Every 10-12 minutes or so. Timed with the projections on ToT. As a Florida resident, I loved it. We call it “snope”. Don’t get it in your eyes. It burns.

International Festival of Holidays . . . what is not to be missed?

I co-sign all the previous mentions of Mostly Kosher. If they’re back this year I will catch them every time I’m there. And if it is the same, the Spiced Rum Punch Slush at the French kiosk is my favorite of all the festivals’ French slushie drinks (and that’s saying a lot!). The Voices of...

    Epcot Breakfast Items

The baguette from Les Halles. They’ll give you some butter packets to go with it. I could live on that bread.
