What are your top 4 table service restaurants?

My family's "real" list, the TS we hit every trip, where I find the food good and prices reasonable for a family: Steakhouse 71 (Breakfast, lunch, dinner) Grand Floridian Cafe (B, L, D. Miso salmon is so good.) Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch or dinner, traditional family fave) Plaza or Beaches &...

Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Information & Questions + Construction Updates

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I have a June stay booked and have not received the emails. The International Guest email is interesting in that it notes "minor work", "enhancements" and states that the lobby "will remain fully accessible". Hm. Sounds like redecorating. As for timing - I...

Well, if your partner really wants Poly, you should probably stay with that! I really like the Poly as a resort too, for lots of reasons. As far as CL there, tbh, I stayed CL at the Poly only one time. While the Poly lounge undoubtedly had an awesome view, I found it crowded and didn't love the...

Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Ha ha ha!! Yes, my family member is fantastic! As far as the GF RPC CL goes... you're right that people shouldn't believe it will be "perfect in every way". Perfection is just too much to expect from human beings. And, some staff are better than others. That's just life. That said, the RPC...

Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Information & Questions + Construction Updates

I'm not sure how much square footage and extra bathroom space means to you and your group, but just throwing it out there... I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, CL access. The room was in an outer building, Sago Key, next to the marina and Gasparilla Grill. The "secret" Royal Palm Club elevator is...

Interesting thoughts on preferring the bus to Epcot vs. the monorail. I've usually been lucky with the monorail, but I did have one longer-than-normal experience due to a monorail going down.

Agree... the convenience is great, (especially if you've gotten a great room deal). And I do love a good soup!

Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Thanks for your reply, some fair points! WL at half the price of a mono resort? Yowza, you got a heck of a deal! For my dates, WL Resort View is only $50 lower than CR Garden Wing Garden View. For $50 I'd take the CR room every time (I like the Garden Wing). GF/Poly are $200 higher (30% higher)...

Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Question for you... I've stayed at WL before but it was several years ago. Husband and kids loved it, but I felt somewhat cut off and never stayed there again. (I remember being on the boat to the MK and looking longingly over at the Poly and GF). That said, the WL price point is really good...

    Reading Challenge/Goals for 2024

It's been awhile since I checked in. Started the year with David Grann's The Wager (decent), then went on to read all of Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin (Master & Commander) 20 book series. Then read the 11 book Hornblower series by C. S. Forester. Hornblower was decent, but not as good as...

Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I'm the one with the DD at RPC, but no, she has zero insight on why CL are excluded from the summer 2024 resort room special offer. She did say that there are no staffing issues at any of the Club Levels that she is aware of, and she often picks up shifts at other CL lounges.

    Reading Challenge/Goals for 2024

Happy New Year! After finishing 2023 with David Grann's The Wager (quite good, but short), I decided to stick with the nautical historical theme and started the Master & Commander series by Patrick O'Brian. Set in the British Navy during the Napoleonic Wars, these books are ripping yarns...

Reading Challenge/Goals for 2023--2024 link added

2023.... the year ended for me by finishing the Georgette Heyer regency romance series that I started in the fall. Completely lost count of the number of total number of books I read for the year. I was at 66 in September. Estimating about 20 of those Heyers, I'd guess I read about 85 books...

Refurbishments were not at all obtrusive. Renos inside the main building are done for now. Exterior sections still under refurb are few. There are limited construction walls and scaffolding here and there on the back & side of the main building. A very little bit of construction was going on...
