I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

Just returned from a few nights in Panama City (Panama not Florida) staying at Hotel La Compania using a Hyatt upgrade certificate to get a loft suite. Decided not to use Hyatt points as the $ cost would not have been a good points redemption. Hotel is located in the old town and is the result...

Yes that's a good point. Schools will be off that week so I guess some touristy stuff will be busier that week - don't think it should be a dealbreaker, but I guess if it is easy to switch to the following week that may be the better option. Just be aware that flights from the US to UK at the...

I wouldn't see the bank holiday weekend as something you should actively avoid. Actually, there might even be some fun events going on. Just be aware of possible reduced public transportation service on the Monday - similar to Sunday schedules though.

It depends as virgin miles are fixed whereas AF is dynamic. I have booked AF Singapore to LHR and LHR to Lima, both via CDG which were substantially fewer miles through Virgin. Coming back to the US (BOS in my case), I agree that Virgin tends to want to route through LHR although I have seen...

Don't forgot you can also use Virgin miles to book Air France/KLM and sometimes for less miles than FlyingBlue. You can search availability on the Virgin site but you have to call to make the booking.

The letter that accompanies the gift card states that they can used at on-property restaurants and retail shops, spas & golf courses, and charges to your room.

We've had connections of just under 2 hours at CDG and made a connection quite comfortably assuming it is same airline and luggage checked through.

I often use Biz cards to pay federal tax and the only issue I have had was with a Chase Ink card that refused to work on Pay1040 but will work if I use those same cards thru Paypal on Pay1040.

Support was 40,000 points so $400 is correct. It was the SUB that was either 75K or 90K.

My AF just posted @ $95 and I was going to cancel, but I figure I can use the $60 credits so will keep it for another year, but it will be on the chopping block in 12 months time.

After hearing y'all raving about Japan, I've finally taken the plunge and booked flights for November. Might not be the best redemption but I grabbed some PE seats on the direct JAL flight from BOS. They rarely go for less than $3k and are currently $4k+ so quite happy with getting these for 50k...

If you close it on May 31, you are unlikely to get the bonus. However, you should be able to close it after the statement closes and the points post. You may have up to 30 days after the statement to close and get the annual fee refunded, but to be safe, if you close by Jun 30 you should be good.

You should. I used the $150 on the gold, and PC'd to the Plat and it is showing I have $200 to use.

Love this one ↑↑ :thumbsup2 Seems like you have thought this through' so if you're happy that you're not going get better bang for your buck elsewhere then why not give Globalist a whirl. I will say that it does become a bit of an obsession always looking for Hyatt's and though I will requalify...

So just a thought on this - the Hyatt cards also have 2% categories and lets say 20% of the proposed spend is at 2% then the $105k would yield 126,000 Hyatt points. I conservatively value my Hyatt points @ 1.8cpp, but often manage to get 3cpp or more. So those 126,000 points could be worth...

I think your math is good except for the anniversary free night in year 1, but as @wanderlust7 said - are you sure it makes sense to go for Globalist? I can spend 30 - 40 nights a year at Hyatts and use the credit cards to top up as needed for Globalist. From your post above, it looks like you...

If you are determined to go for Globalist, remember that the Biz card gets you 5 qualifying nights for every $10k spend so I am not sure you need to rush to get the personal assuming you will still have the spend later in the year. Nonetheless, the personal is worth getting at some point and...

Just noticed Amex is removing SiriusXM from the Platinum monthly digital credits. Sirius and Audible were my main uses of this credit and both gone now (or will be soon). Amex just seems to be getting worse and worse in comparison to Chase.

I'm guessing Singapore Airlines. I did that flight in December from Newark - Premium Economy but had the 2 seats at the front left of the cabin with about 10 feet of legroom - it was awesome. It was the plane that does not have an economy cabin, only Premium and Biz. I was dreading the 18 hour...
