The food on the fantasy was really bland…

I had the same dish. The chicken wasn't dry (which is a little unusual), but the noodles were pretty bad. My server looked at it as he served it, and said "hold on, let me get you some more sauce"

    Change to onboard digital photos

I was on the Fantasy 3/5, and bought a 10 photo package. I had no issue downloading once I got home.

    No more distancing in theaters?

I just got off the Fantasy today. They were still enforcing every other row, at least 3 seats between you and the next party for our cruise. Can't confirm if this is something new that's supposed to start today.

    Nautical charts

Despite the DCL ads that say "Discover uncharted magic", I really hope they've got a good set of charts up on the bridge. GPS is great, but paper can't be hacked.

    90 day recovery status?

I was just looking at the last PCR test I had (negative, but I'm going to do 1 more before my upcoming cruise). There is a "Collected Date" (the date I had my nose swabbed) and a "Received Date" (1 day later ... presumably the date the sample was received at the lab) Does anyone know which date...

    Lost Luggage and Palo

For the shoes, I would try to have something that's a "nicer" open toe shoe, rather than "ratty old flip flops that are fresh off the beach"

DCL newbies have lots of questions for MDAS sailing

    3. Cast members get their normal A or B discounts on most merchandise onboard the ship. No discounts at Castaway Cay. 4. Depends on the length of the cruise. Even if they're is, you're not obligated to dress up, but you can if you want. 6. Not a coffee drinker so I don't know what is good...

Are you a fan of Cruising or of Disney Cruising?

My wife and I did a honeymoon cruise on carnival, and came away not terribly impressed. Admittedly, it was on one of their older ships (Inspiration, which has since been retired), but the ship and crew didn't impress us. It wasn't bad, just wasn't great either. Then I did a DCL cruise with some...

    Name display size adjustment

Hi Dan! Good to see you too! Yes, I still work for the mouse, although I'm hidden way backstage, and the systems I support have pretty much zero impact on the guest experience.

    Testing for a 4-year old

If you buy the "At Home" test kit from Inspire, it comes with a UPS next day return label. Take the test, stop by a UPS store on your way to drop it off, and you're good. Inspire knows what the deadlines are, and you'll have results in time. Inspire also had a test location at Orlando...

Transportation from Disneyland to San Diego Cruise port?

I'm a fan of the train. Nice scenic views, no worries about traffic, and there should be a few options daily to for your schedule. Once you get to the station in San Diego, I think it's walkable to the port, but Uber or Lyft are also available.

How Social are You During a DCL Cruise?

We've generally had pretty good table mates at dinner, so we never minded being paired with standin people. We've also sometimes let other people join our table/team during crowded trivia events and that has usually worked out pretty well. Not a lot of time to talk about much other than the...

Pre-Cruise testing for a child in Orlando

Safe Passage has the home kits that you can order in advance and send back to them (UPS 1 day), and a test location at MCO. Advent Health (Centra Care) also has a test location at MCO (more expensive than Safe Passage).

    Name display size adjustment

Random "It would be nice if ..." type question. Is there any way to adjust the left hand column in board threads to be a LITTLE bit wider? Signed, Someone who's username is 1 character too long to fit on a single line

    Diabetic menu

I haven't really paid attention, but I have seen at least one dessert for each MDR menu advertised as "NSA" (turns out it means no sugar added, not that your dessert is spying on your cell phone conversations ;) )

Question about room key / payment on board

As they type in the room number, a picture of you comes up on their terminal.

    Vancouver Question

We stayed at the Sutton Place hotel, abs enjoyed it a lot. The room was spacious, the staff were friendly, and it was not a bad walk (about 10 minutes, with luggage) to the cruise terminal. We've also stayed at the Pinnacle Harbour Front (hotwire hot rate deal) and thought it was very pleasant.

Is 11 too old for first Disney cruise?

On this board, you'll likely get a lot of folks saying that 11 is not too old, and some saying it is. I've cruised (on DCL) with some friends who had a 13 year old son, who was not a huge Disney fan, but still seemed to be enjoying himself. There's a lot of stuff to do in the kids clubs and the...

Reading on Facebook Port of Miami is a disaster

Actually, that's probably the hardest to fix. I would guess that any road signage would be "owned" by either the Port, the City, or the County, as opposed to being something that Disney can fix themselves. The miscommunication amongst cast members is just a training issue, and is easier to fix.
