New Disney cruise ship to set sail from Singapore from 2025

DCL showed AUD and charges USD in Australian, whereas in Australia Royal Caribbean charges AUD for booking & extras before you sail, but charges USD onboard. (Not that you have to pay for much) The Australian sailing DCL & Royal cruises have non-optional gratuities. The DCL sailings are also...

New Disney cruise ship to set sail from Singapore from 2025

Like the Australian itineraries id say it will do lots of short round and short one way cruises. Wonder is returning between Sydney and Brisbane a few times but all on one way cruises, the Europe itineraries are similar, they will break long cruises up as one way with a nowhere in some cities...

Disney confirms purchase of Global Dream cruise ship

These are some links in the other thread that show more detail on the ship as it was intended Video showing the ship and intended destinations: https://m.facebook.com/DreamCruisesHQ/videos/global-dream-will-soon-join-the-dreamcruises-family/811502529293363/ Video of staterooms...

Disney confirms purchase of Global Dream cruise ship

The best Disney amenities I’ve ever received were in the Miracosta at Tokyo Disneysea, they are so adorable and smell so nice I still have some in my bathroom I’ll never use, just look at when I get stuff from that cupboard. 😂 I still have the cardboard slippers too they come in a little bag and...

Does Disney Cruise Line Have Plans to Purchase Abandoned Cruise Ship?

Lots of time though the original design included split bathrooms and a very Disney layout of the staterooms. The design was a bit bland but nice. I would guess the staterooms don’t change much probably art and some smaller details. I’m interested in what looks like a new front with a curve and...

Disney confirms purchase of Global Dream cruise ship

There’s a 13 page thread about this already (albeit with a long and in accurate title - does Disney have plans to buy an abandoned ship)

    Booking French Site

I’ve never booked and travelled but stalked the prices a lot with google translate. It’s not just the .fr site or French language either, the prices vary with the sites for lots of European countries, Belgium and Italy were cheaper still last I looked. I expect that’s about local holidays.

Does Disney Cruise Line Have Plans to Purchase Abandoned Cruise Ship?

I think it makes sense for Disney if it can fast track plans for growth. As beloved as they are, at 25 Magic and Wonder are in their twilight years. Add 3 ships and take away 2, in the years that will take the line has only grown one ship. Adding an extra ship that’s progressed will put them...

    Refillable mugs going away again?

Hopefully it is just a supply chain interruption. The Freestyle machines at Aulani were my sons favourite part of our Aulani/WDW trip, they are much better than WDW’s (when we went) It would be really sad if they were removed. They wouldn’t even need the chip, just update the design and...

Does Disney Cruise Line Have Plans to Purchase Abandoned Cruise Ship?

I don’t think this ship is that ship though it has a really garish theme park. I expect the concierge and spa areas would be luxury first, Disney second and the rest of the ship usual family fare of characters and heavy theming. It looks in the last video like the main restaurant could have...

Does Disney Cruise Line Have Plans to Purchase Abandoned Cruise Ship?

I think the engine is also different for LNG. But diesel is still in more ships than it is not, including the current RCL Oasis class and Disney’s pre-wish fleet. I would expect whoever the buyer is doesn't change anything technical, it has the same propellers as the Oasis class for example...

Does Disney Cruise Line Have Plans to Purchase Abandoned Cruise Ship?

Low Sulfur fuel is the type of diesel. The first four Disney ships before the Wish and RCL up to the yet to launch Utopia of the seas run on diesel, like the global class. I have no idea if it’s as simple as changing what you fill it with, though Disneys 20+ year old ships using it implies so.

Does Disney Cruise Line Have Plans to Purchase Abandoned Cruise Ship?

If there are different standards I don’t think it would make sense to build a ship this size limited to one region when they already had ships sailing all over the world. And also naming them world dream and global dream would be a bit odd then! I expect the offerings in the ship are designed...

Here’s that video with intended destinations in the US, Australia and EU, hence probably no compliance refit needed. The video is 3 minutes long, the destinations are in the last 25 seconds. But the rest shows the ship: https://fb.watch/g5AnrVpFJS/

It has to leave the shipyard by the end of 2023 for it to start building navy ships. The liquidators have leased the space back to the end of 2023. They could sail it elsewhere but if it’s already 70% done you’d think you’d try to get it done in that year.

Does Disney Cruise Line Have Plans to Purchase Abandoned Cruise Ship?

I have read this too and searched too but I don’t think it’s based on fact. The marketing for it in the ships Brochure and the video list the Med, Baltic, Australia and Alaska as intended destinations/itineraries. Being built in Germany I doubt it doesn’t comply with international regulations...

There are lots of dining options already, customers had assigned dining when the boarded, but it didn’t seem like they moved as a group, which suits an American culture a bit better than others. The main dining is shown here...

Does Disney Cruise Line Have Plans to Purchase Abandoned Cruise Ship?

^^ 100% agree, Gentring referred to it most often as 5000 capacity and ‘up to 9000’ if every pillow was filled. The stateroom they have a video tour of has no bunks, just one king bed and a foldout king, so they only sleep 4 in double beds. Unlikely to ever hit 9000 capacity in that case...

Does Disney Cruise Line Have Plans to Purchase Abandoned Cruise Ship?

I’m disappointed in some attitudes about this TBH. Would people prefer 2000 people are out do work and one of the largest ships goes to scrap metal rather than sailing because it appeals to someone other than them? Honestly the ship looks cool...
