I’ve never booked and travelled but stalked the prices a lot with google translate. It’s not just the .fr site or French language either, the prices vary with the sites for lots of European countries, Belgium and Italy were cheaper still last I looked. I expect that’s about local holidays.

I think the engine is also different for LNG. But diesel is still in more ships than it is not, including the current RCL Oasis class and Disney’s pre-wish fleet. I would expect whoever the buyer is doesn't change anything technical, it has the same propellers as the Oasis class for example...

Low Sulfur fuel is the type of diesel. The first four Disney ships before the Wish and RCL up to the yet to launch Utopia of the seas run on diesel, like the global class. I have no idea if it’s as simple as changing what you fill it with, though Disneys 20+ year old ships using it implies so.

If there are different standards I don’t think it would make sense to build a ship this size limited to one region when they already had ships sailing all over the world. And also naming them world dream and global dream would be a bit odd then! I expect the offerings in the ship are designed...

It has to leave the shipyard by the end of 2023 for it to start building navy ships. The liquidators have leased the space back to the end of 2023. They could sail it elsewhere but if it’s already 70% done you’d think you’d try to get it done in that year.

I have read this too and searched too but I don’t think it’s based on fact. The marketing for it in the ships Brochure and the video list the Med, Baltic, Australia and Alaska as intended destinations/itineraries. Being built in Germany I doubt it doesn’t comply with international regulations...

^^ 100% agree, Gentring referred to it most often as 5000 capacity and ‘up to 9000’ if every pillow was filled. The stateroom they have a video tour of has no bunks, just one king bed and a foldout king, so they only sleep 4 in double beds. Unlikely to ever hit 9000 capacity in that case...

I’m disappointed in some attitudes about this TBH. Would people prefer 2000 people are out do work and one of the largest ships goes to scrap metal rather than sailing because it appeals to someone other than them? Honestly the ship looks cool...
