I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

After not being very active with SUBs in 2022 we're looking to start ramping up again. For a few years we drank from the CIPpy cup (5 times each for P1 and P2, since 2019) and I'm wondering if that's still an option or if I should back off of those. Is there information or data points suggesting...

I love credit cards so much! v5.0 - 2022 (see first page for add'l details)

I use this one: I haven't checked to see if the original author has updated it, but it's been great for me.

Thanks for taking the time to check--this explains why I had a tough time finding more information about it!

I love credit cards so much! v5.0 - 2022 (see first page for add'l details)

Is anyone here a member of Digital Credit Union (DCU.org)? I'm likely to join fairly soon and I believe there's a chance to use a refe-- *ahem* -- a chance for me to support someone. I checked dischurners and wasn't able to find anything there. Send me a DM since I think it requires my email...

Genie+ Lightening Lane Question versus just lining up for rides

I agree with this. There are a few things in California Adventure that my family loves and wouldn't want to miss, but outside of those things we don't care about that park as much as Disneyland. We park hop, but if we didn't we'd spent our longer days at Disneyland rather than DCA.

Genie+ Lightening Lane Question versus just lining up for rides

I'll leave it to the experts for a more comprehensive answer, but I'll chime in on my experience the past few days. You pay for the ILL purchase at the time you book it--so there's no way to be charged without getting the pass. You can purchase ILLs after you scan into the park (7:30ish), though...

    Those using swagbucks ???

"Deal of the Day" is to install the Box Tops for Education app. 200 sb, credited instantly. (Terms say it will go pending for 7 days, but mine were instant).

I love credit cards so much! v4.0 - 2021 (see first page for add'l details)

I've seen a couple of references to buying GCs from a grocery store on CSR and using Pay Yourself Back, resulting in a better return than Target. Can someone run through the math?

I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

I also did that bonus this year. After the $15k met the minimum time, I transferred out $5000 (I think it was $10k to avoid fees). Bonus posted on time, no hassles. This page has information...

I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

Just checked our statement and it was a little under $450 out the door, so it must have been ~$399. We ran to a La-Z-Boy store down the road and couldn't find the same model, but everything similar was hundreds more. Unfortunately, it looks like we got it on May 29--which is an eternity in...

I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

We got a La-z-boy rocker/recliner from Costco a couple of months ago that is very quiet. The recline function is powered so it has to plug in, though. And of course Costco is so hit-and-miss with availability that you never know if you can find it! But if you're a member it's worth looking.

I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

Hi all, I just made a post on Dischurners about handling upcoming AFs after my MDD last year. I'd appreciate any thoughts on how people are handling this now, with change in the air at Chase. I will (hopefully) have a big UR redemption in the next year since the trip we planned was cancelled--so...

How do people my age afford to go to Disney so much?!

As another poster said, it depends very much on your employer, but the "generic" salaried job includes 2 weeks of paid leave, and often that is gradually increased as a longevity reward for keeping the job over time. Typically, they also offer additional "sick" days. Many (most?) jobs that pay...

    Index funds

Lots of good suggestions here. I second the recommendation of Vanguard or Fidelity. Both have "target date" funds which allocate holdings based on how close you are to retirement. Something like that may be useful for simplifying the right mix of stocks, bonds, etc.

I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

Similar situation here. On Thursday, administration of my school called for a large number of us to report tomorrow for a meeting to discuss online delivery options, etc. Apparently they don't see the irony in bringing us all physically together to discuss ways to prevent bringing everyone...

I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

I know this isn't a definitive answer, but we've done WF twice (P1 and P2) and with both accounts, pushed ACH transfers from Barclays and from our credit union always counted as DD for the bonus and for waiving the monthly fee. They do have a nice feature that shows your fee status from the...

    Price increase -- It's Here! (2/11/20)

We scanned our etickets into the app and brought the paper copies as backup, which we didn't need. When you scan in the first time you still get the actual (card-sized) tickets, but you don't need them if you're using the app.

*No longer relevant* (Maxpass/Fastpass: an overview and some strategy)

So it turns out we were there for the last fews days of MP at $15. I would've paid $20 and I still think it's worth it at that price. It's a really important part of how my family likes to experience the parks, and we'd probably even buy them at $30 (please don't tell Iger I said that). But the...
