Universal 1 day / 2 park ticket, not 14 days!

Apologies for jumping on this thread- GirlDreamer, I noticed you stayed at the Holiday Inn LBV and just wondered if you thought it was an ok hotel? Looking at booking somewhere offsite (could be a shock to the system!!) as we can't justify Disney prices for hardly any benefits.

    Best souvenir you ever got

I got a 'free' $300 Disney gift card with my travel agent booking one year. I wanted to make sure I bought something to remember rather than fritter it away, so I bought the bronze Partners statue 😍 Which was $159 at that time, it's been on my mantlepiece ever since, I love it. I also bought the...

    Walmart?

Ooh, I'll have to check this one out, thanks :) I love a visit (or several) to Walmart! I like the Vineland Road store, it always has a good selection of supplies and souvenirs - I don't know how much it would cost in an Uber though as we've always had a car. Also visited the Turkey Lake Road...

    Virgin Atlantic

I agree about the price being important; fortunately each time we have flown with VA the prices have come in at an amount I'm happy to pay :) They are my first choice when flying transatlantic - it may be 'a means to an end' but for that length of flight I enjoy the service VA offer on board.

Who to book with? Travel agents/independent? Which sites?

I think previous posters have covered all bases about pros and cons of booking separately / packages. We've done both ways previously with no issues, booking separately does tend to be cheaper most times - our 2020 trip was coming out at silly prices for a package. Out of all the Value hotels...

    Walmart delivery?

I've only ever gone in person - I look forward to a few Walmart trips! Is it sad that I already have a list on my phone of things to buy from Walmart next visit?

    Which character breakfast?

Sounds a good mix 🙂 It took me 3 holidays before I finally got a ressie at Chef Mickeys (I wasn't constantly looking just on first try for our dates). It was ok but tbh we enjoyed Tusker House much more! We will probably book TH for a 3rd time next visit, love the food choice and character...

    Trip Advice

I've just priced mine, it's gone up by £382 and it only offered me POFQ/R or CBR - CSR wasn't available... Unless I wanted a tower room from £7400+... You could try clearing your cookies and see if that alters anything? But most likely if you see a good deal, book it. Don't hesitate as there...

    Car Hire July 2019

Assuming you're picking up a car from the airport so you will have your luggage with you as well? You would need at least a standard / intermediate SUV to fit in 5 people plus luggage. MCO has the usual choice of rental companies, have used Alamo, Dollar (I think) and Budget in the past without...

    Passing on Potter

I feel the same way, it doesn't represent good value for money for us at present - we've always included Universal tickets in the past but unless we have a windfall I probably won't buy any for this trip, there is so much to do everywhere else that even the lure of Mr Potter (which I love) is...

    Trip Advice

I'm wondering about the impact of the tower too, it will be interesting to see if the resort is busier than on our previous trips, especially around the dig site. The convention centre keeps itself to itself - I like the fact that a proportion of CSR guests are attending that area; it always...

    Trip Advice

I felt that the buses at POR seemed to take longer than at other resorts, MK especially - but that's to be expected due to POR's location. I think we've all had that point in our hols where every other hotels bus arrives at the parks bus stops bar your own  I've done a split stay in...

Booked for 2020 but now regretting it due to free dining

Hi Karina, My Sister did similar to you, but only put down the minimum deposit against her holiday. She was able to go into her booking online and it gave her information about cancelling and what percentage of her deposit she would lose; she was happy to have this option, cancelled and...

    Would you recommend photopass?

Thank you for the info - I don't see the point of buying Photopass then! (at DLP). My Sister was really disappointed by the lack of photographers / characters compared to what is available at WDW. I think if I were the OP then I would save my money, my Sisters photopass pics were no better...

    Would you recommend photopass?

My Sister has just returned from DLP and it was 16 Euros per photo. I am trying to look for information on the photopass editing - we've been to Orlando and used photopass each time, my Sister has just logged on to view and edit her DLP pics, but there are no borders or characters etc to add...

    QSDP or Upgrade to DDP?

We have been a few times and had 'free' QSDP, and as we had young children in our party we found this suited our (their!) needs as we could eat as soon as they were hungry, rather than be tied into set times at restaurants. We also do a couple of Character meals and TS too - we treat our QSDP...

    Disney Magic in Liverpool

Liverpool is certainly a great place to visit, with plenty to do right at the dockside as Rachel has mentioned :) The Museum of Liverpool is just to the right of the Cruise terminal when you disembark; this is a great Museum for kids - not a 'stuffy' Museum but more a 20th century history of...

    Disney Magic in Liverpool

We headed down to the prom at Vale Park, New Brighton :) The waterfront at Liverpool looked fabulous, I felt so proud of the whole Pier Head area for the passengers getting off the ship - much nicer than Nassau docks when we were on board the Wonder! #Merseypride :)

Great to see her this afternoon, a little bit of Disney on our doorstep :)
