Have you been back to your honeymoon spot?

Spent 1 week in WDW in 1981, so only Magic Kingdom was open. We also spent 1 week in Puerto Rico, which was wonderfully relaxing. We’ve been back to WDW but not Puerto Rico, not sure why we haven’t been back.

Have you been back to your honeymoon spot?

Stayed at Mullet Bay Hotel 3 times. Loved it, the best! First time with my parents in ‘73 and twice with my DH in the early ‘80s. Oh, we were at Orient Beach, too.

Fun and silly fads, please share

Love that with your daughter and her cousins, too funny. Anyway, my son had the Silly Bands, Crazy Bones & of course, Pokémon cards. The Crazy Bones started when he was in kindergarten, I believe. New packs would come out and the kids begged their parents to go to the store to get some.

Pay to use the rest room?

I remember the pay toilets, the attendants & the ultraviolet light thing. I also remember cloth towels that were in a machine/roller, which was supposed to “clean” the towels??? Ick. I also remember places using toilet paper “sheets” rather than a roll of TP. My mom would take these small...

It’s very frightening. My son grew up with this young man and his 2 brothers. My son does not want to ride on main roads for awhile. My son shaken up by this and has a baby on the way, this hit too close for comfort. Per the police report, no fault to the bicyclist, an investigation is...

How many years do you get out of a mattress?

@leebee. From our experience, the non-flippable mattresses can not be slept on the other side, no cushioning or anything. We have had Beautyrest Black, Stearns and Foster, Serta & Casper in our house. We have had memory foam, hybrid and coil, even the coil was non-flippable.

    Gender Reveal parties

I believe you are in the same area as I am, it’s funny that you say showers are surprises! My son and daughter in law, know about their shower, although, not planning it. So, we are at the age where all of our sons friends and our friends kids having baby showers. They not only not have been...

    Keyless car starter

I think some (me included) have used the word “key” but it isn’t a typical key, at least in my experience. It is an uncut piece of metal. Similar to this:

    Keyless car starter

The exterior keyhole is usually hidden, at least on our Ford Edge and Bronco. It’s underneath the drivers door handle, obscure but useful in an emergency.

    Shingles Vaccine (Shingrix)

We just had our first one on Thursday. We kept saying we would go get it done and it kept going to the back burner. Our daughter in law is pregnant and we were told if being around baby, make sure our Tdap booster is up to date. We went for the Tdap, next covid booster (over 65) and...

    Gender Reveal parties

Thankfully, my son and daughter in law had no interest in a gender reveal party. They both thought it was a stupid thing to do. Although, our daughter in law wanted to know the gender (son didn’t), as she is a planner and wanted gender specific clothes, as opposed to gender neutral. They are...

    Keyless car starter

It happened to us. My DH forgot to grab his keys but the car started as I had my set in my purse. He dropped me off and continued to do an errand. Ooops, he can’t restart the car. He called a neighbor to come to where I was to get the keys and take them to me.

How many years do you get out of a mattress?

Mattresses are very hard to buy. Our 12 year old mattress that we just got rid of, was a Beautyrest Black, top of the line, coil, non-flippable and non pillow top. Yet, my DH started feeling aches and pains at the 10 year mark, he thought it was just aging. We had a hard time back then to...

How many years do you get out of a mattress?

My former boss bought a $7,000 Tempur-Pedic as his wife wanted it. He hates it and said he’s waiting for when he can go back to a traditional mattress.

How many years do you get out of a mattress?

We had a 12 year old Beautyrest black and loved it. DH was starting to get pain in his hips so decided to look for a new mattress. We were told mattress should be replaced every 7-10 years! What??!! We’ve always bought a firm mattress, so tried a few mattress and bought a firm Sterns &...

    Have you got a degree?

The company I worked for had a department that did employee background checks and they would be able to flag people who were dishonest in their resume/application. I interviewed for a job at another company that warned me that if there was any inaccurate information in my resume/application...

What common household items of its time did your childhood home not have?

We had that type of system for fire as well. My dad was on the volunteers (we had paid & volunteer) and thought it be nice to get what we called “clanger” in our house. What this meant was that those blasts would also clang in our house. My mom would look up in the book and needed to call...
