    POFQ - first time visitor!

I wouldn't stress too much about room requests at POFQ. I don't think there are any bad locations there as it's a very compact resort and each building has it's own charm. I would just keep your room request simple like "top floor" or "corner room" whichever is more important to you. As far...

BC proximity to EP realistic in August?

Staying at BC will be a long walk to the front of EP for rides but if you are doing the front of the park in the morning, it's not the hottest part of the day. When our family went to EP when the kids were younger, it was hard to go from the IG to the front of EP in the morning. However, that...

Dis Breast Cancer Survivors Part IV - GAGWTA

lmp - Glad you are getting a reprieve from doctors and tests for a few weeks! I had the dexa bone scan but I have not had to take any calcium supplements. I have just been told to increase my calcium intake and I will have another scan in 5 years.

Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

HHmmmm....It would make sense because historically, I believe YC usually has a refurb after BC and BC was finished last year.

    Lemon Desserts

Le Petit Cafe at Riv has Lemon Madeleine.

Which is best second week in May or last week in September?

May, hands down! Lower humidity and less rain. Also, no Halloween parties closing down MK early.

    Which moderate?

Sorry--haven't stayed there yet to know the walking distance. I figured if we are eating breakfast or lunch at Riv, we would just hop on that bus to the parks. Also, if we are at MK or AK and the Riv bus comes first, we would hop on it to go back to the resort. It's just nice to have that option.

    Which moderate?

Given your criteria, I would stay at CBR. Our family loves POFQ but for a young teen, that pool will feel very juvenile. We are actually booked for our first split stay in Jan 2025 with 5 days CBR and 5 days BC. We have requested "connecting rooms, near Riviera" as we don't really care about a...

Growing family and need help between OKW and Yacht Club.

If YC and OKW are the only 2 choices, I would go with OKW for the reasons listed by pp. Why not just do 2 rooms at CBR? It would probably price out about the same as the other choices and that would give you 2 bathrooms, 2 TVs, 2 fridges, etc. Ask for connecting rooms. If you get assigned...

    Grand FLoridian or Beach CLub

Between Gf and BC, Grand Floridian wins hands down. GF proximity to MK is a huge factor with the ages of your children. The pools at GF are very nice with the beach pool being our favorite. Fun slide, great atmosphere, wide open sightlines, great poolside service for drinks and food and the...

    Port Orleans Riverside - Dogs

Respectfully, whether you asked or were invited by a cast member is really irrelevant. It was against the rules and you knew the policy. The CM doesn't make the rules and could very well get reprimanded for allowing a pet dog into the food court area.

SAB is open. It closes in Jan 2025 - June 2025 for refurb.

What's Your Favorite Song on Guardians of the Galaxy?

Disco Inferno was our first song. Whole family says Disco Inferno and September are tied for favorite songs. It's funny, everytime I hear either of these songs in my daily life now, all I can think of is GotG!!

    Port Orleans Riverside - Dogs

For our next trip, we were planning to stay at YC until I read that the "original" plan of putting pet dogs only on the ground floor near the quiet pool had been abandoned and now pet dogs can be placed anywhere in the resort. DH refuses to take the chance so we moved our ressie over to BC. We...

Choosing between Rides and Resorts (GF or Contemporary)

Here comes my 2 cents.... :p I would stick with GF but downgrade to either resort or water view. Chances are high that a discount will come out for your stay and you may be able to upgrade back to TPV for a better price. Also, the fireworks are for what?, 30 minutes a night? Not sure the...

    Should I Switch??

I would stick with YC for late August. July is going to be more crowded in the parks than late Aug due to school vacation. The skyliner in July will have a lot of down time due to lightening/storms which could be very frustrating especially with an ECV. Staying at YC in late Aug would allow...

Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

I would suggest just leaving your online check-in choice of "near skyliner" as is. When you get the notification that your room is ready, look to see it's location. If you would prefer another location, do not open your room door. Go to the front desk and politely ask if there are any king...

    SSR or moderate

I agree with pp that renting points are VERY confining. You cannot change the dates and risk losing your money if something comes up. Someone gets sick, a family member dies, a snowstorm cancels your flights, your employer cancels your vacation due to emergency, etc. Life happens and unless...

Wilderness, Beach Club or Bonnet Creek?

Our family loves the Disney bubble. That feeling that as soon as you arrive at your home airport, you can relax. No more driving, lots of dining options, the extra Disney touches just make it FEEL like vacation. What are the ages of your children? Can your children share a bed or do they all...

Best time to take young kids out of school?

When our DDs were young, we would take them out of school for the same reasons. Our favorite time was about 10-12 days AFTER Easter. Any lingering crowds from Easter week are gone and the weather was fantastic. Little rain, lower humidity, and nice temps for pool time. The resort prices are...
