If the people saying that to you have children then I'd just reply and say "I don't know why you aren't going since you do have children"
Or you could simply reply "Nunya" - none ya business. :rotfl2:
************** UPDATE ********************
I had a zoom with my manager yesterday. Topic was about something else however she brought up the return to the office issue. Once again I explained everything I've said supporting why it makes better sense to remain remote also pointing out how...
Yes my manager did request me to submit the formal exception. When it was communicated to "lean back" into coming in it was also noted there was an exception you could submit for full time remote.
My manager did deny the request. I asked her and it never went further.
Northern New England here right in the direct path. All schools are closed, work is closed, parties going on all weekend, law enforcement on weekly calls to prep for all the people.
I live on a lake so I will be by the water taking it all in!
I know it is hard for others to understand what is written in a situation and place like this but in no way do I feel entitled. What I feel is frustrated that we aren't being treated equal. That it depends on who has what manager with the perks you get.
There really aren't "stories" to be...
Good question. I asked my manager why I need to go in and she replied "so that we can check the box that you are coming in"
What about ALL THE BOXES for those who don't? I did respond saying that and she had no answer.
Others told me their work status. Never have I asked anyone. Most would say "are you at the office" and then go on to tell me how lucky they are that they don't have to. The only time I asked was when I said "how were you so lucky to stay remote" and they replied "having a boss who has 5 kids...
I don't believe they want me to quit. My manager continually tells me how happy she is with me and the work I do.
This is just a simple thing I posted to see if anyone felt this was somewhat strange - unequal - whatever you all it. When I managed people, they were always treated fair and equal.
Thanks for your reply!
I am going in one day and never thought to take this up with HR. Love the idea of asking again in the future to be remote. As I stated, my job is totally independent. No one ever knows I'm even there! Ha ha
What name says it all? My user name? Wow.......as mentioned here several time, my user name was chosen at the time I was going through radiation treatment for cancer at age 45. It was during the wintertime and I was helping a young girl who was also going through radiation. We made paper...
