“Bubble” - licious – A Northern Family's Disney Tale! UPDATED 8/27/09 (LAST CHAPTER)!

Sweet you caught the bus that quickly! Don't you love when that happens!

Did you take a pic of the infamous tyedye cheesecake? I'm going to have to google it and see it !

YUP! Fast busses are so great! Gotta love that! No - I didn't take a picture of the cheesecake, I am pretty sure you can find a pic of it on the food porn thread! It was very yummy! :woohoo:

With the whirlwind entry to the park over a week before I had not realized how spoiled I was at the Wilderness Lodge. One thing I missed immediately was the size of the grounds. Wilderness Lodge being contained effectively to one tall building was quaint. They could cover all the floor with matching flooring and carpeting to complete the experience.

At Pop Century I noticed a lot of good old concrete. The number of buildings gave the whole resort the feel of a development after the pampering in the big house of timber.

Suffice to say I am seriously snobbish and doubt I will do the budget trip. I'll work a second job to pay for my pampering thank you very much :)

While we were waiting for Kim to sign in the kids wore down the battery on my HP IPaq PDA. What a gift that was. I had decided not to bring a laptop because I didn't want the distraction or the worry of leaving it alone in the room. The PDA fits in my pocket, has enough music and games to entertain the kids, lets us check in via email, and even let me keep my own trip report on it (the report Kim is using as a source for her info).

I MAY get around to posting mine. A bit of editing to do first...

Anyway the kids and I were ok, and when we got to the room it was as if we were leaving Disney in stages. Goodbye expanded room overlooking a parking lot that we could see the fireworks. :sad1:

The kids and I needed the nap. So much to do this morning. An early morning. And now a late evening!

The cafeteria at Pop Century was MASSIVE. I was so used to one line to checkout, total of maybe 4 employees in the Wilderness Lodge eatery. Here it was like going to Wal Mart after spending time in the corner store. The atrium was larger and louder.

I'll admit that Pop Century wasn't my favourite resort of the three. It received unfair comparisons after leaving Wilderness Lodge. Sigh. My happy place includes a Wilderness Lodge now.

Did Kim mention that it had warmed up? I think the temperature that day was in the low 70's.

In my recommendation of a PDA let me make it clear that:

1. It is personal, not work.
2. It is not a Crackberry, and does not receive email unless I tell it to go get it.

I saw some people there working away while in line or walking through the parks. Not my style. I pay that much, I`m going to cram every darn eyeful in before I leave.

Unless I`m napping.

Oh my goodness Kimberly! I go away for a few days and you've got updates posted like crazy. Let's see if I can remember what I wanted to comment on. How sweet that Natale wrote a letter to Minnie and Mickey. Thank God that your wallet was recovered. Awesome about the Stacy meeting. Nice transition from WL to Pop. Whew! I think that's it. Hate that the trip report is winding down.

Unfortunately we weren't at Disney. I have 15 days left before we're off for Disney World. Our daughter, Lacey, graduated her second year of missionary college and we traveled to Georgia to watch the ceremony.

I've got to get busy on my trip report from last year. I've still got a day and a half left of it.

Well, My Goodness! :goodvibes

So sorry to have left y'all hangin' for such a long time! :upsidedow Life has just been one big ole funfest the last month and I am just now gettin' 'round to the last chapter of this here TR! :)

YUP! That's right! I DID say LAST CHAPTER!!! :sad1: But please don't be too sad, cause, GUESS WHAT?

WE'RE GOING AGAIN!!! :yay: WOO HOO!!! :woohoo: Yessirree! :cool1:

Hang on for just a few more minutes! I'll be right along with the last chapter and all the details of our next trip! :goodvibes

Chapter 30: The Last Enchanted Evening!

Date: January 28th
Time: 4pm
Place: Animal Kingdom

We arrived at Animal Kingdom right on schedule ready to cram in as much fun as possible into the last remaining hours of our trip! It was PM EMH Animal Kingdom so we had until about 8pm to do as much as we could!

First on the list was to attemp to provure some FP's for my adventure lovin husband so he could once again ride the YETI! We all but bounded over to Asia only to find that EE was out of FP's for the day and had a 55 min standby time! Ken was none too happy! I assured him that the lines would be quite a bit shorter after the EMH started. He accepted this and we moved on. To Primevil Whirl. To get FP's. Well, once again, our efforts were foiled and we had to settle for later!

We had about an hour before the Nemo show started so we decided to hike the Maharajah Trail! We hadn't had enough time to fit this one in on our other AK day so we decided to do it now. We saw lots of interesting animals on this one! We got about half way through and I realized that we would definitely not have enough time to complete it because we needed to get into line for the Nemo show!

Now, you have to know that in most areas of my life, I am a pretty brave person! I will attemp to try most things in life. There are only a few exceptions to this rule. Weird food. Death defying acts. Snakes! That last one is a real problem for me! I have tried numerous times to overcome this fear. Sorry people but it is just not happening! I HATE SNAKES!!! So any of the pictures you see of any snakes were taken by my wonderful husband who is a much braver person than I am!

Now onto the pictures! Here are the animals that were lucky enough to have their picture taken while enjoyed the Maharajah Trail!

Like I said previously, we only got to see about 2/3 of the trail and then we had to find our way out sowe could make it to the Nemo show on time! IT was a close one! We got to the end of the line just as it was starting to move inside the theatre! We found some seats somewhat near the middle and enjoyed the swimming fish and the bubbles while we waited for the show to start!

I think we all really enjoyed this show! Very Well Done Disney! I believe it is my second favourite show at WDW Beauty and the Beast @ DHS would be my first. What a neat concept! I love the “puppets” - very cool! My favourites of the show were definitely Crush and the HUGE pelican!

Once the show let out, it was well into the EMH time and we headed over to Dinoland again to see if the lines for some of the rides were any shorter. We lucked out this time! Ken and Emily rode Primevil Whirl while Nat and I sat and people watched and enjoyed the interesting surroundings of Hester & Chester's carnival!

Once Ken and Emily had had enough of Whirlin' we decided to check out what Discovery Island had to offer in the way of trails! We saw lots of neat birds and things here and then found our way into the Tree of life Garden and ultimately ended up at the entrance to It's tough to Be a bug!

We had thought we might avoid this little show cause I wasn't sure how the kids would do with large 3-D bugs! We convinced them to give it a try and went in for the next show!

They were fine right up until the part the bad bugs come and spray. After that theu were both on the floor refusing to watch anything else! Ken and I enjoyed the rst of the show and then we decided to let the kids enjoy the Boneyard for awhile.

I believe it was now about 645pm. We trudged our way over to the boneyard and while the girls played and I watched, Ken went to enjoy EE! I believe he was able to ride it 2 0r 3 times in a row!

At this point, it was dark, we were all very tired and ready to call it a day! We headed towards the exit and waved goodbye to AK and headed towards our bus stop!

Unfortunately, about 1000 other people had the same idea at the very same time and it ended up being about a 4 bus wait until we were actually able to get on a bus! CRAZY!!!

We arrived back at POP at about 830pm! We were tired, hungry and still had to pack for our departure the next morning!

I went to Everything POP and grabbed a bunch of food for us, using up the last of our Ddp credits. We ate quickly and then Ken took the girls swimming while I packed up all 8 of our bags and got everything straightened away for our departure the next day!

I believe we were all bathed and sleeping by 10:30pm!

Our DME shuttle was scheduled for departure the next day at around 1045am.

When we woke up in the morning, we went to everything POP, got some food and used up all the rest of our money, Gift Certificates and credits and loaded up on souvies and gifts for the family back home! We checked in for RAC at about 1015 and the girls played the the toys while we waited for our bus to arrive!

It did so very promptly and we were on our way back to MCO! A very sad moment! Our flight went well and we were cack in Minneapolis by about 4pm! We found our way to our lugagge which was all there, got a taxi back to the hotel where our car was waiting for us. Loaded up the car with all our bags and headed to our final destination on this journey!

We checked into our final hotel on this trip and then proceeded directly to the Mall of America! There we let the girls spend what was left of their Disney Dollars and grabbed some supper at Ruby Tuesday's! I was not about about to tempt the allergy gods at this end of our trip! We returned to our hotel battle weary and ready for home! After a good nights rest and a great breakfast the next morning, we set off for home!

We arrived home, back in Canada after a marvellous adventure happy yet slightly saddened because we were not sure when we would be returning to WDW!

That is it!

Thanks for tuning in! I hope that you have enjoyed our adventure! I also hope it was helpful for somebody!

ps..... We will be returning to WDW for a shorter but perhaps even more fun filled trip on January 26th, 2010! Watch for a soon and coming PTR!

Thanks Shawna! :goodvibes I kept avoiding "The End" cause I knew I would be so sad to finish it without knowing when I would be going again! :) Now that we know we will be there again in January, I can close this chapter and start a new one!

Our dates are set in stone now as we have booked our airfare! January 26th-February 2! :yay:

What a great trip report Kim!!! You did an amazing job!!! Many kudos to you!!!!! I can't wait for your PTR...you know I'll be there and I can't wait to join you on another adventure to Disney!!!!!

Thanks Jenny! :goodvibes I am not sure when I will start the PTR, need to get through the first couple weeks of school first! Have to get into a routine and then we will see. Possibly around the end of September! Watch for it! I know you will be there my friend!

He's a boy- you'll never understand his thought pattern :rotfl2: Although my DH says the same thing about girls, so who knows which one of us is right! :confused3

What a great TR Kim! I too am sad to see it come to an end. It was so much fun to read and relive your trip with you. I'm looking forward to your new PTR and TR!

Hi! I've been meaning to read your TR for a while - we are also from Ontario but NW of Toronto and our girls are just a little younger than yours. Anyways I had a Sunday morning to myself and needed a Disney pick-me-up so sat down with my morning tea and read your whole report :) What a wonderful trip you had :goodvibes Lots of disney magic and some great character and non-character meetings :wizard:

Too funny that it was your youngest that was nervous about rides, our DD4 was the daredevil and DD7 was the reluctant one for Splash Mountain and TofT - although she did love Thunder Mountain, its the dropping that she doesn't like!

So great that your DH joined in on the report! My DH teases me about my "TR addiction" although he was always curious to know what comments were being made on our TR :rolleyes1

Thanks for sharing and I hope you have an equally fabulous time in January!
