If we have two separate 1 night reservations back to back nights at the same resort/room type and they are linked to MDE will we have to check out and change rooms?

Do you not want to or can't modify the two reservations into one?

Yes, you will have to check out and back in. It's unlikely they'd force you to switch rooms. You might even be able to check out-and-in over the phone.

The system, once you get to the resorts is much friendlier now than it was several years ago. The linked reservation is now treated as one at the resort and there will be no need to change rooms and no need to do a second check-in.

Thanks--that's encouraging news!! Changing rooms for the same unit size and same resort after 1 night would not be fun at all!!

I do not think linking individual reservations to My Disney Experience is the same as combining reservations. Wouldn't surprise me at all if you had to check out and check back in and possibly even have to change rooms.

Just call MS (or send them an email request) and ask to have the two 1 night reservations combined. That will ensure you won't have to change rooms or go to the front desk to check out and back in again. Verify that the combined 2 night reservation is linked to MDE and you will be good to go.

Can MS combine reservations that were made using different DVC memberships?
