Welcome to the 2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival thread. The Festival is scheduled to take place September 14 - November 14, 2016.

This thread is for discussion of and information about the 2016 Food and Wine Festival only. Please, no discussion of regular restaurant reservations, possible meets, comparing dates you're going, or off-topic chat.

This first post is where the links to festival information will be listed.

Walt Disney World's "official" webpage for the festival:

Reservations for the special events, culinary demonstrations, and beverage tastings begin July 21!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommendations for making reservations for the special events, demos, and wine tastings. (posted by BwoZoo22).

1. Research the available events. Make a list of the ones you want.
2. Write out the full name (per Disney), date, time, location, and cost.
3. Add up the cost and reevaluate as necessary.
4. List the events in order of priority and/or popularity. Posters here can give you an idea of what sells out fastest.
5. Have all of this information typed out on a sheet of paper when you call. It's 4am here when reservations open, so I need all the help I can get. Also, CM may not be able to find the correct event if you do not have the EXACT name of the event. And things may sell out while you are on the phone, hence the advice in #4.
6. Have cc out and ready before dialing.
7. If you can, have others call in too, or use several phones. Don't hang up the other lines immediately after the first one is answered; the calls drop sometimes.
8. Write down all reservation confirmation numbers. It can save major headaches in the future.
9. Be nice.
10. If you are told your event is sold out, try calling back another day. There have been instances where a CM happens to 'find' a reservation for a sold out event.

Fantastic. I've been waiting for this thread. We're looking forward to this year's festival. We're bringing friends that have never done F&W. I'm hoping they love it as much as I do.

We will be in Orlando for a convention the 7th & 8th of October. My husband and I will be celebrating our quiet (elopement prior to big wedding 9 months later) 20th wedding anniversary during that trip. Our plan is to enjoy the F & W festival for 4-5 days as we've never been and have talked for years about going. Thanks for starting the thread and I will be following diligently for all info possible. Not sure if we'll be able to partake in any seminars as it seems like most of them are Fri & Sat when we'll be at our convention.

Thank you for starting this thread. This will be my first F&W fest so I will be checking here all the time!

So excited for this year's festival. I can't wait to hear about all of the events and chefs for this year.

My favorite time of year! Disney has released a little info for this year:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guides/epcot/events/#highlights

I'm excited to see Morimoto will appear. Makes sense with his restaurant in Disney Springs. I wonder if the other celeb chefs opening spots there (Rick Bayless, Art Smith) will appear- hope so! Hard soda floats sound fun. I hate the name but am intrigued at the supposedly more hands-on "Mix it, Make it, Celebrate it" sessions - I'm looking forward to seeing what those are about. Interesting to see the Burger Bash is back - I had the impression it didn't do that well last year.

I'm wondering if The Chew will film there again this year? Again, hope so - it was fun to watch.

Looking forward to watching this thread for more details! I am going to the preview event in a couple of weeks and will report back!!!

Thanks for starting the thread. I'll be there 9/14 - 18, well I'll actually be there two days before that but for F&W the 14th - 18. I'm a little upset since last time I looked they didn't have any of the little deminars scheduled for that first week/weekend but I'm hoping that is just because they haven't updated the site since last year. I would go a week later but my AP expires 9/20 and I was hoping to get 3 trips off it this year.

Thanks for the thread.... anxiously awaiting more details and following along :).

Thanks for the info.. it will be my 1st time to the F & W.. can't wait..pixiedust:

Incipient foodie here! The DH and I are planning to be there for 2017, so I'm very interested in what's happening this year. Will be following closely!

Thanks for starting the thread and I will be following diligently for all info possible. Not sure if we'll be able to partake in any seminars as it seems like most of them are Fri & Sat when we'll be at our convention.

The culinary demonstrations, beverage seminars (typically wine tasting), and mixology seminars are scheduled every day of the festival.

Culinary demos are typically scheduled at 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM each day of the festival.
Beverage seminars are typically scheduled at 12:00 noon, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM each day of the festival.
Mixology seminars are typically scheduled at 6:00 PM each day of the festival.

All of these seminars/demonstrations are held in the Festival Welcome Center which is located in the old Wonders of Life Pavilion (between Universe of Energy & Mission Space).

Edit: Disney has changed the times of the seminars and demos for 2016.

The beverage seminars are scheduled at 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:30 PM.

The culinary demonstrations are scheduled for 12 noon and 2:00 PM.

So excited! Will be there this year for two weeks! First week adults only & second week with the kiddos and extended family. My husband & I are planning to go all out the first week when it's just the two of us! There better be Party for the Senses October 29 as that's our number one "to do" as we've never gone in the past for whatever reason???
